[Dalek Mod Suggestion] How to improve TARDIS and reduce lags

IMPORTANCE

I dare consider this suggestion one of the most important ones, because the game is becoming too laggy. That might be connected to many reasons, but the main one is that the server is overloaded. It's obvious that everything starts lagging if many chunks in different worlds are loaded. Now the server has thousands of TARDIS interiors in the tardis world and most of the overworld is busy - there are buildings even close to the world borders (which do exist - they are just far far away).  That's why the server is stuck in lags and even restarting doesn't help. Those, who suffer from the lags will understand (I'd bet anything every 9 of 10 people do)

OTHER PROBLEMS (Connected with my suggestion):

TARDIS is definetely the coolest feature in the DM and the most wanted one. However, I keep meeting people who have trouble using the TARDIS, buying it or losing it. Some people don't know which TARDIS to buy and feel disappointed after having bought wrong roundels for redecoration. And in survival you can't craft all the roundels.

SHORT LIST OF SUGGESTIONS:

1) TARDIS Redecoration (in order to reduce the number of TARDIS interiors)

2)  TARDIS Panels improvement - skin changes, functions

3) TARDIS Flight in a more realistic way

4) (Less important) New TARDIS crafting recipe

SUGGESTIONS THEMSELVES:

1. TARDIS REDECORATION

Instead of buying various interiors I suggest having only one TARDIS block.

After being crafted, the TARDIS should have its default Gallifreyan exterior (TT Capsule) and the classic (white) interior.

In the TARDIS GUI (or one of them - see suggestion ?2) there should be a redecoration button.

In the menu there should be a list of TARDIS Interiors availiable in the mod. Redecoration shouldn't be free - it should cost credits or artron energy (see suggestion ?3).

2. TARDIS PANELS

Searching for the nesessary parts in creative inventory is boring and useless. Buying those is problematic and unsequre (for many reasons - for example an unexperienced player just wouldn't know what to buy). Sometimes default players craft TARDIS flight panels and then realise they don't work for them.

A TARDIS Panel can easilly solve all those problems. You've done TARDIS Command blocks in which you can choose the skin of the block and a command. The Panel should have something like that. There won't be any TARDIS blocks - no screens, no levers, no panels. The TARDIS Panel will have all those models and would be able to do all the functions with commands.

Possible commands:

/gui - opens GUI which was before opened by pressing screens

/travel - dematerialises/materialises the TARDIS

/flight - opens the 1st person flightmode

/redecorate - opens redecoration GUI (Suggestion 1)

/chameleon* - chameleon sircuit

/coordinate travel* - coordinates GUI

/world* - world choosing

* the last three might be added instead of the common GUI to make flying the TARDIS more realistic.

The TARDIS Panel will be able to look like anything from the demat. lever to any screen. It might have often-used minecraft  models like a lever, a button or a comparator.  Admins will be able to import more levers into the game. Every player would be able to choose, what does each thing. That would also allow the admins to add functional modeled consoles and their parts to the TARDIS.

Those commands might become the beggining of TARDIS functions. Personally, I like very much the suggestion thread of Arcphoenix and 50ap5ud5 concerning TARDIS Panels (https://swdteam.com/forum?p=thread&tid=602). Those functions could be released quicker in TARDIS Panel commands.  (No need to make models for each one instantly - the models would have the opportunity to arrive later). There is much more to be added and so many awesome ideas, however, with this making and using the whole mod will be easier!

3) NEW TARDIS TRAVELLING SYSTEM

You kill mobs. You get credits. You buy a TARDIS. You get inside the TARDIS. OOPS - YOU CAN TRAVEL TO ANY COORDS IN TIME AND SPACE!

That's quiet great, yeah. You are God - you can be anywhere in a minute! But soon enough it becomes too boring.

That's my solution to the problem: Dimentional and Artron energy. They would be TARDIS characteristics. Artron energy would be restored while being parked on Gallifrey (when it's added) or while being parked for a long time (without dematerialising for more than a game day).  Dimentional energy would be restored while spending time in the time vortex (dematrialised).  Artron energy will be nesessary for teleportation. Dimentional energy would be nesessary for using chameleon circuit.

Dimentional energy can also be used for:

- Creating sonic screwdrivers and glasses (which should be created in the TARDIS console)

- Charging all sonics, including the sonic blaster (which would loose energy and need recharging)

- Creating TARDIS blocks (which would also be created in the TARDIS console)

- Generating new TARDIS keys (from golden ingots)

Artron energy can be used for:

- Charging the vortex manipulator (When added)

- Charging artron batteries to be transformed to other TARDISes who have lost all of it

4) TARDIS CRAFTING RECIPE

Don't you think that TARDIS crafting is too easy? Gallifreyans surely wasted much more time and technologies to create those amazing machines. This is what I suggest:

A TARDIS might be crafted of:

- An Artron Battery

- A Zeiton-7 Crystal

- A Chameleon Circuit

- A Dimentional Converter

- A Dematerialisation circuit

- A Time Rotor

The Artron Battery should be crafted of a Zeiton-7 Crystal and a coal block (any order)

The Chameleon Circuit should be crafted of the Artron battery (in the centre) and blocks around it - dirt, wood, stone, leaves, sandstone, water bucket, obsidian, netherbrick (in any order around it)

The Dimentional Converter should condist of 3 stone blocks, 3 netherrack blocks, 2 obsidian blocks and a zeiton-7 crystal:
S O N

S Z N

S O N

The dematerialisation circuit is to be crafted from a zeiton-7 crystal,  an artron battery and a time vortex manipulator (when added)

P.S.

It is obvious that the SWD Team can't do all that staff instantly, and some of the ideas might not be the best. All of these ideas are invented either to make the game more reallistic or to reduce the lags:

1) Redecoration will reduce the number of interiors spread through different parts of the TARDIS dimention

2) TARDIS Panels will help the admins add new functions and parts without having to rebuild all TARDISes; It will also help the players to use the TARDIS and make the flight more close-to-life

3) The exhistance of two energies will prolong the game as it wouldn't be just so easy to get a TARDIS and become able of everything.

4) The crafting recipe is quite complicated as the real TARDIS crafting recipe should be. It would reduce the number of TARDISes spread across the world.

If you have read my thread, please don't hesitate to comment, supporting me (or not)
I hope that the first two ideas (which are the most important and helpful ones)  will be considered and released ASAP.

SWD Team members, please comment on the thread  when you read it. I want to know, whether it is good. smile

I really like the format here and thanks for the mention.

I also really love the idea of having to recharge Sonic Screwdrivers and Sonic Blasters

Finally! A well written and formatted suggestion! Not often you see those. Anyway, I really like all these ideas as they make it seem more realistic and adds more to the TARDIS system. The only issues that might come up with this is it becoming too complicated for younger users, for example, 'ADMIN MY SONIC SCREWDRIVER ISNT WORKING PLS HALP!' when in reality it only needed to be charged back up.

Actually, charging the sonic comes with sonics generated with a TARDIS, so it shouldn't be a problem. Users who have TARDISes will have been in game for a while.

The charge will be in the item decription (Instead of "times used", which for me is absolutely useless option). There can be 4 words "Charged in the TARDIS" to help everyone, even those whose English is not very good

Maybe there can be an "Energy Left" Counter displayed while holding the Device?

That's exactly what I meant saying

"The charge will be in the item decription (Instead of "times used", which for me is absolutely useless option)."

Love the suggestion, it's well written and thought out, a rare sight for these forums. Thanks for the mention as well.

I love the idea of rechargable Sonic devices. The Tardis travelling system you mentioned has been suggested before, but you've explained it alot more clearly than most.

I give you my support for this, it'll make the gameplay more interesting. :D

Thanks a lot) Personally, I think that the forums should have "like" buttons. Then admins would be able to find the most popular and the most liked suggestions.
