I've decided to seperate the installation part from my main Dalek Mod FAQ as it was too long and ineffective.

Q: Can I purchase a SWD Product without using Paypal. If so, how?

A: You may use a credit/debit card directly to pay for a SWD product, but you will need to enter in your card details. Just click on the "Buy" button, confirm your purchase, then click the "Pay with credit/debit" option in the SWD Paypal checkout page. See the images below.

Step 1: Confirm your purchase.  There is a credit/debit card option AFTER you confirm the purchase by clicking "Pay with Paypal"

Step 2: Click the "Pay with credit/debit"

Installation:

Q: How do I install the Dalek Mod?

A: Click on the links on the front page for your version of minecraft you
prefer. This will take to the SWD official Dalek Mod product page

  1. The download buttons for each version are on the right side of the page in red.
  2. The adfly link has a "Skip Ad" button. Wait about 5 seconds and click on it to download the mod.
  3. There is no installer required for the mod. Just don't click on anything else on the page, that's what can potentially
    give you malware.
  4. Once the jar/zip file has finished downloading, just drag and drop into into your "mods" folder in your ".minecraft" folder. The mod should now be installed.
  5. Before you start playing the mod, make sure Forge is installed and make sure you run the vanilla (unmodified) version of your respective minecraft version a few times before installing the mod.
  6. As the game is modded, it does take a little longer to load up the Dalek Mod than if it was vanilla Minecraft.

There is also an installation video SWD Team made for 1.8 Dalek Mod if you want a more visual install guide.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43Bx3h_Liks

The installation instructions are the same for each version of the Dalek Mod.

Q: Do I use Forge or Forge Modloader?

A: The Dalek Mod was coded using the recommended forge for its respective Minecraft versions (1.8, 1.7.10, 1.7.2, 1.6.4, 1.5.2), so please use the recommended Forge.

From my experiences

  • Java 7 works with Forge.
    • It's currently in a archived Java site, so Google it and you should be able to find it.

  • For 1.7.10 recommended forge, 1.7.10-Forge10.13.2.1291 seems to work for me.
  • For 1.8, 1.8-Forge11.14.3.1450 and up also works.

You can download Forge here. http://files.minecraftforge.net/   A jar file installer works for both Windows and Mac.

Q: Which version of the Mod should I use?

A:The most recent update (as of 27th December 2015)

  • Update 41 is for Minecraft Forge 1.8.
    • As it has been rewritten from scratch to port it to 1.8, many of the older Dalek Mod features are missing, but will eventually be added.A partially working spawn code has been added, with Daleks spawning and dropping Dalekanium again.
  • It is still recommended to try the
    • 1.6.4 or
    • 1.7.10 in the meantime for a fully working spawn code.

Q: I’ve downloaded the mod and now I have malware!

A: Make sure you have downloaded the latest version of the mod for your version of Minecraft. Other websites that offer the mod may be giving you outdated and unsupported versions of the mod or even malware/viruses.

There are official download links—the links on the MinecraftForums page and the SWD Store.

http://swdteam.co.uk/store.php (click on the Dalek Mod product page and select any of the red download buttons on the right hand side)

Q: How do I get Modloader Dalek Mod to work?

Q: How do I get the 2013 Advent Calender features to work?

A: Please see ArcPhoeni'x thread here, it shows you how to do so. :)

SWD-Related/Getting Free stuff:

Q: Can I have your source code?

A: No, sorry, SWD doesn’t give out their source code. It will be closed source; it’s too easy for someone to copy the code from the Dalek Mod, modify the models and repost it as their own original mod. ( The Official Doctor Who Mod by AinselyMasters is a repost of the Dalek Mod)

However, if you request some of their models for a mod review or something, that may be possible. Just state your request and give a good reason for it! :)

Q: What is the SWD email for? (suppourt@swdteam.co.uk)

A: It's a support email address, for people with technical issues (i.e. crashes/bug reports). You can find each team members emails in the SWD About page: http://swdteam.co.uk/about.php

Q:Where can I get SWD products early (including the Dalek Mod)?

At the moment you can buy the Beta access rank for an account on the SWD website for $2.50 (USD). (You can create one if you haven’t already)

It gives you heaps of cool stuff early, not only Dalek Mod!

Q: Can I join SWD Team/ Can I help make Story Mode?

Q: Can I have Beta Access for Free?

Sorry, SWD Beta Access isn’t for free, but it only costs $2.50 (USD) to get awesome products early! You have to use Paypal to pay though. If you don't have a Paypal account, use it as a guest user and enter in your debit/credit card details!

OR, as I quote Tumblr_Cat,

  • "First of all you must act like a good community member, be helpful, follow the rules, speak clear english (as this mod is made by british people) and be mature. There's no age restriction but a certain level of maturity is required  Who knows, you may get it one day! :D

For Some Reason The Button "Pay with credit/debit" don't appear to me

For Some Reason The Button "Pay with credit/debit" don't appear to me

If you click on the 'Pay with PayPal' option, there should a button in the PayPal login after that that give you the option for alternate pay.

For Some Reason The Button "Pay with credit/debit" don't appear to me

I mentioned "click the 'Pay with Paypal'", the option to use credit/debit is after you click on the former.

And wow much Comic sans Kyron.

if so, it doesn't show up to me

When I try to purchase SWD Beta Access, after clicking "Pay with Paypal" It goes to a broken page with this error message:

"Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'InvalidArgumentException' with message 'ReturnUrl is not a fully qualified URL' in /home/swdteam2013/public_html/sdk/paypal/rest-api-sdk-php/lib/PayPal/Validation/UrlValidator.php:23 Stack trace: #0 /home/swdteam2013/public_html/sdk/paypal/rest-api-sdk-php/lib/PayPal/Api/RedirectUrls.php(29): PayPal\Validation\UrlValidator::validate('/scripts/paymen...', 'ReturnUrl') #1 /home/swdteam2013/public_html/scripts/payments/payment.php(192): PayPal\Api\RedirectUrls->setReturnUrl('/scripts/paymen...') #2 {main} thrown in /home/swdteam2013/public_html/sdk/paypal/rest-api-sdk-php/lib/PayPal/Validation/UrlValidator.php on line 23"

...and when I try to donate for the DMU server, nothing happens when I click Donate.

It seems to be an issue with all SWD products at the moment, 1WTC is updating the site, so the product payment links are broken. We'll have to wait for him to finish updating the site. Sorry for the inconvenience.
