My suggestion for people making suggestions:
Please, ask yourself these things before posting a suggestion thread
1. Has it already been suggested? (please actually take the time to look.)
The forums don't need duplicate threads (it wastes the time of the team when reading through suggestions) and you may be able to combine your ideas with someone else for an even better suggestion
2. Has the team already mentioned what I'm suggesting for future updates, was it in a past version, or is it already in the mod?
If so, don't post.
3. Am I suggesting a fix for a bug?
Then put it in the bug reporting section
4. Have I really said want I wanted?
Empty undetailed "one word" posts just don't really help anyone.
5. Have I been as thorough and detailed as I can be?
6. Would this cause any balancing issues? If so, have I covered them?
Nothing in game needs to be gamebreaking or OP
7. Have I thought of how this might be exploited and how to prevent it?
8. Is this reasonably programmable?
People have to code these ideas you know.
9. Am I posting in the proper section?
The devs are less likely to notice your posts in other spots and quite arguably, it can be said you're making off-topic threads if you post suggestions in places other than the suggestions section.
10. Have I thought of potential bugs that may come up? Have I thought of how the team can deal with them if they do occur?
(ie: "Just make sure you test it though if it gets added, you don't want a user deleting 75% of the forums" -Me in my "Deleting threads and comments" suggestion)
11. Do I contradict myself anywhere in my suggestion?
12. Am I being clear and consistent?
13. Would someone who hasn't seen the story this originated from be able to understand what I'm suggesting?
14. Could I state this in a better way or use more proper wording?
15. Is my Post clean, neat, and organized?
16. Did I use proper grammar and spelling?
(This is something I see not done far more often than it should be done)
17. Have I properly Credited anyone I may have taken ideas from? Additionally, did I specify which ideas aren't mine and clearly indicate for each idea exactly which ideas came from which person?
18. Is my suggestion easy to follow, easy to read, and easy to look at? (See some of my posts)
19. Have I properly Inserted my images
Here's how you insert Images
20. Does any of my suggestion contradict Who Canon and did I research my suggestion (if it came from the show)?
Basically, this just is making sure you have your facts straight and that your suggestion wouldn't conflict with the Who Canon (ie: 1st having a Sonic screwdriver, Lumic Cybermen being weak to gold, or something like the Brigadier as a Unit Soldier (although this is debatable) would all conflict with the show's canon or be very innacurate)
21. Tips for researching for more infrmation and a note about the Canocity of Doctor Who
If you only watch Post-Rose, there's a lot you're missing. I recommend checking out the Tardis wiki when you have ideas.
You can often find more information abut things that you may have never even known about.
Did you know that Doctor Who's canon includes
I personally only watch the show, but taking a good look at the pages of Tardis wiki can really help provide to you more information on what you are posting about.
I recommend taking a look at source material too if you can, but it's more of a preference to me than a necessity.
22. Here's an example of a good suggestion
From my Cyberman Ultimate Suggestions thread
Cyberhorse
As seen in: Spare Parts
Planet of Origin: Minecraftia and Spare Parts Mondas
Spawning: Cyberhorses spawn naturally with the Spare Part Cyberman Jockey mob. They also have a low chance of being created when a player throws Cybermites on a horse.
Behavior:
Statistics: Cyberhorses run faster, jump higher, and jump further.
The downsides: Cyberhorses do not breed, they regenerate health at a MUCH slower rate, and Cyberhorses, though they may have quite a bit of health, just don't compare heartwise to breeds of horses that have the highest amounts of health
I give the name and an image, and I talk about where the mob spawns, taming, statistics, breeding (it can't breed), special spawning conditions, its behavior, where it came from, and special traits. I mention what makes it an awesome steed while still giving some good reasons to still use vanilla horses as an alternative.
I also did research for this topic within Tardis wiki. I don't own Spare Parts, but I read enough about it to put together my suggestions related to the story.
AN. ( aka "Number Arc's Nitpick") (Optional, but helpful) Never ever ever say Season 1 when referring to the 9th Doctor. It's Series 1. It may seem a bit nitpicky, but it REALLY makes a difference when posting suggestions. The 9th Doctor's actual season number is really 27. It can be tough to remember that sometimes so it can help to use the "Series 1" Name when refferring to the 9th Doctor's first season. Alternately, you can use the terms "Pre-Rose" to refer to the episodes from Unearthly Child to Survival and or "Post-Rose" to refer to episodes from Rose to the most recent episode. Both terms I thought up and this whole rule isn't really necessary tbh. It does however help people to know whether you're referring to this (Season 1) or this (Series One) when you say season 1. Again, just a minor nitpick by me (thus the name of this number) but it really helps with communication about Doctor Who as a whole.
Helpful tip: If you want to convert a Series into a season number, just add 26 (The Season of the current Series (Series 9) is really Season 35 for instance)
Feedback: If there's anything else I should add here, please feel free to leave a comment, thank you
Tips:
Sums up my thoughts! Would I suggest making an example for at for the community so they can copy it over to their post?
Perhaps use one of the suggestions in your threads? They're developed very well and are easy to follow.
and haha love the title of this thread!
Would it be possible to change to something like "Suggested (or even recommended) format for SWD suggestions (Please read!)
It makes it clearer to others unsure of how to format their post so they'll read this and hopefully use it!

Added
Updated.
Information on how to insert images has been added
Also, do you happen to know how to insert images from your hard-drive? i.e. locally, not off the internet.

Imgur or something similar. That's the only way in SWD Forums that can guarantee the image coming up

Hmm. Ok. I'll bring my suggestion about this back up.
Update: Added an optional thing about Series v Seasons
Again, it's completely optional, but things tend to get confusing otherwise
I think my original post is an example of what not to do, though it has good ideas no one can stand to read the wall of text long enough to find them or be inspired.

Though I imagine rewriting them all as separate threads would take quite awhile and a number of them have been expanded on by Arcphoenix anyway.
