I'm not entirely against the idea myself, as having an in game crafting guide would be more convenient than having to get another mod, swapping to creative, going through your inventory, checking, and going back to survival. (But if this was actually rejected by John or another dev, just let me know.)

I do have to say though, that this is posted in the wrong section. Suggestions should go in the suggestions section.

Just wanna point out that with NEI or JEI all you have to do is hover over the item in any gamemode whether it's a server or not and click R and it'll show you the recipe.
