Hi, I've been hunting for silicate ore. It seems to be pretty rare, but when I do find some, I can't seem to mine it (the blocks drop experience orbs, but that's it). According to my stats I've broken 12 blocks, but picked up none. I've tried mining with an iron pickaxe, and a diamond pickaxe. I'm about to try with a stone pick axe, but I thought I'd check in to see if there is something I'm missing. Thanks!
I'm using update 47 of the mod, with minecraft 1.12.2, survival mode (single player, hard).
It doesn't drop the ore, it drops silicon items.
Hmmm. It doesn't seem to be dropping anything other than experience orbs.
are you sure you are not mining coal ore? (They look the same)
I thought about that, but I have a resource pack which changes the way many of the standard minecraft blocks look, including coal. The silicate blocks stick out quite noticeably... Guess I will keep trying.
So at this point I've tried mining more than 50 blocks of silicate ore with every kind pick axe I can think of including brass. No drops (aside from xp).
Using TDM update 47 with MC1.12.2 in single player survival mode.
Is there a trick to it? Or is there a chance it is a game issue? A simple iron pick axe is used in this video, and there seems to be no issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8sKMw6yoL0
Any advice or suggestions would be highly appreciated! :)
