2021

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I hope everyone a great 2021, and hopefully, this year can bring much greater things than 2020! Today I thought it would be interesting to look to the future of this year, and talk about upcoming things.

The one that most people are probably most excited about is 1.15 DM! It is supposed to be coming out sometime this first quarter, and I can’t say enough how excited I am for the release. Don’t get me wrong, I adore 1.12, but at some point, in your life, you have to move on. The possibilities DM in 1.15 could bring is almost endless, with the pillage and village update and the aquatic update. It really will be interesting to see what this year has to bring for 1.15DM. But equally, this year will probably mark the final year of 1.12 DM, which is equally sad, as I have a lot of memories associated with it. But that is the way of things, and no doubt, I will make many more memories in 1.15.

The WOTW mod also recently got its full v1 release, which was really exciting to see. It most defiantly will be fun to see both DM and the WOTW mod in action together! It will also be really interesting to see what updates 2021 brings to the WOTW mod, but I am under the impression that the team is taking a break on it, to fully focus on 1.15 DM.

This year, we are supposedly going to have the release of the next season of Dr Who, and no matter whether or not you like Chris Chibnall and Jodie Whittaker or not, a new season is always exciting, especially as Chris has said that it will be released the moment it is finished. Today, as of the time of writing this article, we also have the New Years Day special for Dr Who. I do really wish they would move it back to Christmas Day, but oh well. It will be interesting to see these Daleks I keep hearing all about. But alas, I ultimately think that I will feel disappointed by the end of the story, as I unfortunately always am at the end of a Jodie episode. But even if I do not like the special, no doubt some readers will enjoy it, and I hope they do, last year was tough on a lot of people, and in a way, I hope this special can bring a brief moment of light to those people who are in less fortunate situations.

Today, I would also like to announce a new type of competition for the bugle, after the disappointing results of the build competition I tried to run. This new competition is a photo competition, where you can submit your favorite screenshots taken that week, for a prize of £1000 on DMU! More details to be announced next week!

As I have said, this year has certainly been tough for a lot of people, and my heart goes out to everyone who has lost people close to them. 2021 is not instantly going to be a better year, but hopefully, over the coming months, things can work towards being better.
