Like a ten percent chance to be teleported to a confession dial before you run out of regenereations.
It's a unique idea, though I probably won't go in that direction tbh
Sorry for the late reply, Don't notice this comment until now. I think it would be easier if the player just respawned there with a message in chat saying 'You have been reset' then tell them basic instructions on what to do (they would also receive these instructions on first entering the dial, so there not completely confused).
Also had another idea. What if, instead of confessing to move the sections of the castle, the player has to find buttons. This would mean they can't just run over to the wall, and they have to find all the buttons. There could be one in the grave and other ones at wherever else the Doctor got clues from. Not exactly show accurate, but a good excuse to get people to see more of the castle (and maybe find some hidden goodies (e.g Twelves red velvet coat)).
This is what I had in mind with making a tool to mine the wall crafted from "clues" found around the castle. This is an interesting alternative though, and I'll mention it in the main thread
Thoughts?
What if:
After you have finished, the dial says (in gold) "finished" in the description. You may then add it with a clockwork block (or something along those lines) and you may then enter the multiplayer confession dial (it will read "finished in silver maybe?)

I'm a bit confused on the second sentence... As for the first half, definitely. I'll add that in
But the Confession Dial isnt just a castle though. It was made to make The Doctor confess, what if you could make custom confession Dial places?

Could you elaborate a bit more on this? I think I know what you're suggesting, but I'd like to hear a bit more

Sorry. I didn't explain it well.
You get a complete confession dial and add it with a clockwork block in the crafting table - it will then read "finished" in silver instead of gold. This confession dial will be able to access the multiplayer confession dial

"Complete confession dial" as in "just crafted" or as in "cleared the structure in singleplayer"?
That's the part that really has me a bit confused

The dial that someone has cleared and won
Sorry, gotta do this... I SUPPORT!! I really do like the idea of this and can't wait to see it get implemented into the game!

I think I'm just misunderstanding. By "multiplayer confession dial" you mean the single one would generate on the server, right? Or something different?

The single one is for doing it on your own.
when you modify the completed one, you can access the multiplayer confession dial
By singleplayer I meant singleplayer mode rather than meaning that a player would need to do the challenge on his/her own.
And by singular I meant "the only one," as the server probably couldn't handle too many people trying the castle at once, not to mention the lag from one person probably affecting everyone else.
I just re-watched this episode earlier today, and had an idea about confessing. What if there was a confession item that looked like a piece of paper that would have a brief description of the confession on it. When the player right clicks the Veil with this item, the item would disappear, and they would be telling a confession. Three confession items would be hidden throughout the castle. The first one would be in a chest in the teleporter room. The other two would be hidden in random rooms elsewhere in the castle. Each time after the player confesses, a new wing of the castle is unlocked as the castle spins, somewhere in this new wing would be the next confession. After the player tells the third/last confession, room 12 is unlocked. This way the player has to explore much of the castle, and it follows what happens in the episode.
Thoughts?
I think that's a wonderful idea, if my never ending master boss fight doesn't get added XP

I think this is a splendid idea. Its sorta my idea about finding buttons combined with Arcs idea of having a confess item.

So the player would explore the castles in segments, after each of the segments the player reaches the exit. This would be sort of linear path crossed with free-roaming?
I kind of had a fully free-roaming scavenger-hunt sort of mind in the quest, tbh. Having craftables and the actual room 12 randomly located around the castle with no clear boundaries. Although I do see the version you suggested could be less time consuming and frustrating to the player. It's a real question of exploration versus accessibility. I'll mention this version, though I'll need to think about it.
As for the confessions having descriptions, I definitely like that part. The descriptions could be pulled from a server folder and each have random and maybe comedic statements so that they're not directly aimed at anyone. Things like "I ate that last cookie."
I think Doe meant that there would be multiple confession items and once you find them all you can then go too the wall.
But that aside, I do think it would be cool to have a randomised 'joke confessions' in the lore of the confession items. Ideas for jokes confessions:
