A lot of people have been speculating that the 1.12.2 server is going to be reset to 1.16, losing everyone's items. As this Ultra-Fun Admin says, these are just rumors.

I wish I knew why people keep claiming it'll be reset. We've always told them that this won't be the case for 1.16 Dalek Mod, it's even in our FAQ section of the Discord.

its_golden has a fair point though, constant assurance nothing would happen to the 1.12 Dalek Mod servers and then its just gone as everyone knew would happen from the start XD
Though I'd imagine just owning up to the fact that the 1.12 server was going to be discontinued woulda caused far more hassle and backlash than this fighting the rumour and then hoping that the want for it died out

B - Das me in the original post! How cool is that.

C - The plan was always going to be to reopen 1.12. We weren't lying to you - that was our (well SWD's) intention. As you will probably know - 1.16 has experienced lag issues resulting in us not being able to have mobs on the server. Therefore adding an extra minecraft server on the same machine would only make it worse! Since it has been so long since 1.12 was open, it's just naturally been decided most people have settled on 1.16, and there is little reason to reopen 1.12.

 Yeah, this. People act a bit hostile when players ask about the 1.12.2 server, as if it was very clear that the server would shut down.
But the narrative for ages was that the servers would co-exist alongside each other. When 1.12.2 was shut down, it was promised it would be up in a few days, with a wink and nod that we'd forget. 
There has never really been a big post that 1.12.2 would not return, and now people hope it just dies out.
