I've been wondering, why is the limit for people who can join 42?

Im not sure, Ive been asking the same question and ive been told that they are seeing what the maximum amount of players could be, and as far as I know its 42, but the reason its that number I have no idea.

Ik, I understand that it is very laggy, and im not entirely sure how servers work, if they reopened 1.12 sometime soon, people would probably go there to give others a chance.

 I understand that too but its unfair cuz the server gets to 45/42 sometimes

yeah, the admins can join even when its at max so you would have to wait even longer. Also I had no idea you could quote quotes.

Making the server limit higher isn't necessarily going to work, it will just make more people join the 1.16 one. 

I believe the reason why the limit is 42 is because it might be a reference to "A Hitch Hiker's guide to the galaxy" the reference being is that in the book/movie they say the answer to life, the universe and everything is 42, Google even has this reference if you search up: "answer to life, the universe, and everything". it's a pretty cool easter egg.

lol, is that why its 42??? but still, if they bring 1.12 back, at least the people who cant get on 1.16 can play on A dalek mod server.

What’s annoying is is above the amount of players because of staff so if someone leaves you still can’t join!

 That may have been a tiny reason but the main reason is that is all the server can handle atm

Also, does anyone have any tips of how to get on the server?
