How do I use Techne to model like others do like Alex and Ford?

Download Techne from here, Techne is very easy to use so it won't take long for you to understand it(and there are several tutorials on Youtube to help you. However, like for any other thing, you gotta learn and practice using Techne, so don't start off doing complicated models, start off with furniture and simple things.

Time Cat is right. I also recommend just messing around. My first completed model was that horrid 2014 Time Rotor, and you've seen it.

Just don't try to make anything too big to start out (stuff like Ford's, or the Vanilla TARDIS exterior model I made (it is made up of cubes, and all the lapis was placed in individually, with many issues)). Start with simple models, and work at it. You'll get the hang of it easily, Ron.

Thanks! I've already been messing with it and I think I've got it now thanks!! How do I get it colored though? Do I just use a photo shop/art program?

I used paint dot net myself, but save the model and do the following: make sure your texture offset doesn't have the textures overlapping. Then: File (drop down)>Export as (drop down)>Texturemap. Save the texture map. Then: Edit (drop down)>Import Texture. Open the texture. The model should now be green red, green and blue. Open the texture map in your favourite photo editing software and texture it. Save it if you need to look at it on the model (to check for glitches). Once you save the model, it is textured with that texture. Closing Techne will allow the model to import the texture into itself. All my models have simple textures, but I know the Pixelmon Wiki has a tutorial on both texturing and HD texturing.

EDIT: Link to part 2 of the Techne tutorial on Pixelmon Wiki (Textures and HD Textures)

Thanks dhi!!! That's great! So when doing the texture do I just then paint each block?

Also is there any limits as to how wide/high I can go? For example, am I able to go off the base without any problems later on?

Question 1) yeah. If you have two of the same block that you want to have the same texture, give thm the same texture offset, but besides that it's simple. My MC TARDIS model is just one texture on the door, one for all the slabs, one for the glass, one for the pressure plate and one for the lapis blocks.

Question 2) not sure. Maybe? I don't think so in height. Try it and tell the results.

Musket, to answer your question, you can use MCskin3D to texture your model(remember to use the texture offset so the texture can look organized and it's easy to texture)and your model can be as big and as complicated as you want, but keep in mind that complex models will lag your computer so be careful.

Okay thanks. Now if I wanted to adjust the size of one block how would I do that without resizing the other blocks? I'm trying to make a chair and I've got the legs but am trying to do the base but need to resize the block for the base and when I try to resize it I wind up resizing the other blocks as well.

Not sure if i understand...Did you select the correct shape?

Yes. I got the shape I created and named Base and then when I tried to resize it all other shapes I named Leg 1, Leg 2, Leg 3 and Leg 4 all started to get smaller too.

1 Unit is the lowest you can go, and Techne can't do non-integer lengths. Plan ahead if you're modeling in it

Can you texture different parts different colors? If so how do I do it easily?
