A DMU Rule Alteration Suggestion

Caution: This is quite a long thread but I would more than appreciate it if the SWDTeam, DMU and SWDTeam website staff members could read and consider this thread. But if you really don't like to read you can jump to the In A Nutshell section at the end.

I was going to originally put this in the suggestions forum but since this is more relative to the DMU Public server I put it here.

Since the addition of the VIP rank to its downfall there has been a golden rule for SWDBaes as they are dubbed. This golden rule states that giving creative items, especially Dalek mod items. This of course is a very reasonable rule and there probably were in my mind, certain points that the SWDTeam considered before adding this. First of them was to push players to buy the VIP rank. The SWDTeam needed financial support to develop the Dalek Mod, Host the two servers and host their site; perfectly reasonable. But I will not be talking about this point in this thread as the required compliance with the Mojang EULA has abolished this way of donating to the improvement of the Dalek Mod (and caused it to be replaced by the DMU Store) The second was to provide a reason for people to buy the Beta access rank, well one of many reasons but perhaps one of the major ones. The third one was perhaps fairness, one player got tons of diamonds or enchantments, etc from a VIP player and could easily go on a kill streak. But if this point did in fact exist it is opposed by the fact that SWDBaes can PvP in survival with creative obtained weapons. (It really doesn't matter if a player is in survival mode if he/she has the strongest armour in the game and every single enchantment that is in the game both on his armor and his weapons.)

My Point

My Point on explaining all these points that I theorised the SWDTeam thought of before adding this restriction was to oppose them as a way to defend my suggestion. Before ? start doing so let me specify my suggestion which ? have not made clear in the first part of this thread. ? suggest to loose the restrictions made on giving of creative blocks to survival players and I will also state reasons to why this would be of positive effect to DMU. Also please keep in mind that I said 'blocks' not 'items'. Let's start with the second point that I have illustrated in the first part as the 1st point is no longer relevant as of the publishing of the new Minecraft EULA. The Beta tester rank provides several features, such as early access to DM updates and products, and access to the DMU Private server being the two major features with several more. People join the Beta server mostly to advance on their TARDIS architecture. I myself suggest to abolish the restriction to give survival players vanilla building blocks. As for the fairness point, my suggestion does not include giving weapons, enchantments, armour, or DM blocks to survival players.

How is this of positive effect to DMU

As many of you know there are a lot of places on DMU with either bad architecture or griefed structures. Now imagine if players were provided with infinite building blocks. Imagine the productivity the players would implement on places like Spawn city. And briefing problems could also be effected. Since players have the ability to repair their own structures this will ease the job of staff members.

In a nutshell

In a nutshell what I am suggesting is that VIP players giving building materials to survival players to not be restricted with the exception of DM blocks and weapons (Also, enchantments, potions etc). Thank you for reading and considering this thread.

But do you realise that vanilla blocks include

Diamond Blocks

Emerald ""

Gold ""

Iron ""

Redstone ""

Enchant Tables

Beacons

Lapis Blocks

Coal Blocks

and any other blocks that could help Defaults get OP stuff xD

The rule could be they can give any non-rare item/block.

"rare" depends on what your definition is tho.

For me Diamonds are rare but for some they arent.

You could exclude those items along with a few others Im guessing.

"MAH HOOOSE WUS GRIFFDD"

"GIMME STUFF"

I think that instead of changing the rules we could patiently wait for the hability of claiming land

On my mobile so my posts will be short and to the point.

Due to the fact swdbae is no longer available those who had it keep it as fairness to them as they paid the money to get the ranks to begin with so they are grandfathered in.

If we made this rule allowed it would still be the same way as it is now only worse. Those who have a favorites swdbae would get free blocks and those who are friendly with defaults would get even worsely slaughtered.

There is nothing wrong with this rule and it is in place for the fairness of the swdbaes as they contributed to the server in a way to keep it running as the server is infact not free. It is because of that as a thank you unlimited blocks were obtained. If people want creative access for their builds they are more then welcome to buy beta access as it is all creative there.

I agree with ed. Leave the rule alone and add a claiming rule system with some form of time limit that if a player isn't online for x amount of time the land goes up for grabs.

As for spawn city myself and a few other staff members fully revamped it and protected alot of it with world guard.

If someones building is griefd a player is assisted by an admin and given the blocks to repair it for free anyway.

For non griefing situations blocks are available for credits
