[Dalek Mod Suggestion] An ability to ram Certain Blocks with Bessie [Vehicle Mechanic Changes]

Feature"Car Fu," as TV Tropes puts it, for Bessie

Description of Feature When driving Bessie at certain speeds, you may be able to smash through walls.

How do you suggest we implement it in game: Basically what I said in the description and perhaps by adding an offensive hitbox in front of and behind Bessie that activates after reaching a certain speed. 

 

Other Blocks affected (When moving at high speeds):

  • Any Kind of crop -> will drop as an item
  • Wood -> Will drop as an item (Tardises usually plow right through wood, but wood will normally damage and halt Bessie)
  • Wood Planks -> Will Drop as an item (Will cause vehicle to halt upon impact)
  • Cobweb -> Will not drop as an item
  • Glass -> Shatters if not the reinforced kind (Reinforced Glass is a suggestion I'll make very soon)

Other information:

 

 

Balancing stuff:

Whether Vehicles can or can't Ram players is toggle-able via a config file or a gamerule.

 

The Suggested command

/VehicleRamming <Bessie/Tardis> <Players/any mob name/all Mobs> <true/false>

 

 

This is great! I would suggest however, that Tardises will not be able to ram players, or the feature will be abused on servers. Maybe if the Team still wants to add that in, (I don't know, maybe John wants to ram down annoying server players) that could be an admin-only option.

 Good point.  I added a bit more to my suggestion

Actually I have another idea! Maybe this feature only works when the Tardis Forcefield is engaged before you enter flight mode, so it makes more sense for the Tardis to not sustain damage during ramming.

 I like this idea. But maybe the hitbox should still be on the Tardis. (The forcefield is a bit big)

 Yeah. Although now that I think about it, it would a bit impractical to have the forcefield in view. I was messing around with Tardis flight and the GUI is very similar to the Player's 3rd person view(you can view its 'inventory' with 'e'), so it would probably be easier for the coder to just implement that ramming mechanic and not having to tie in the Forcefield mechanic and it's rendering.
