Hey everyone.
The other day I was thinking about the suggestion I made at this thread, and came up with the idea of making a survival map based on it.
The WIP storyline is as follows: The player is exiled (much like the third Doctor was) to an earth-like planet, and must construct a new TARDIS in order to leave it and continue exploring the universe. Unfortunately, this planet doesn’t have any lapis that generates naturally, making it impossible to craft the TARDIS directly with a crafting table. But it is a planet where a major battle of the Time War was fought. Because of this, the player can occasionally find wrecked TARDISes and Dalek Ships, from which they can obtain materials to construct the TARDIS. As they explore, the player will discover that that this planet once contained an intelligent race and may have played a more important role in the Time War than anyone had thought. I’ll add a much larger story line later.
It will be open world, and require a lot of exploration in both the overworld and nether. It will also, or course, heavily feature the Dalek Mod.
My question for everyone is whether or not you’d be interested in playing such a map, and if it would be worth taking the time to build.
Any feedback or suggestions are welcome.
Thanks for reading.
Seriously, is anyone interested in a Dalek Mod based survival/adventure map?
Otherwise, this thread can be deleted.
I think this is very interesting. But I think the project might be too large for one person to do.
I'm interested. The Dalek Mod has a severe lack of adventure maps at the moment, and the concept sounds really interesting
GOT MY VOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, it's a lot of work and may take a while to put together, that's why I was asking for everyones ideas first.

My thoughts exactly.

to quote two posts at once you have to copy the quote

How do I get each quote to stay in the blue quote box though!?
You click quote then copy it xP
Click Quote Message
Do ctrl + a to select all (or cmd + a I think for mac)
then paste somewhere else :D

YAY THANKS!!!!!!
Now that we've got that all straightened out,
I have the world loaded. It is a customized world, with some minor, mostly unnoticeable terrain changes. The only major differences between an ordinary world and this one is that the ocean level is a few blocks lower and that ores spawn more rarely but in larger veins. These changes are mostly to show that this is an alien planet to earth/the ordinary overworld, as well as give a slightly different survival challenge. The lower oceans are to represent some of the damage done to the planet in the Time War. Villages and temples don't spawn, but abandoned mine shafts and ocean monuments do. Strongholds also don't spawn, but there will be another way to reach the End…
I'm also planning on adding custom vanilla crafting via a dropper to craft the TARDIS and related items with.
Cool! Love the idea so far! It'd be really awesome to see this work!!
Thanks!
I'm going to update this thread periodically, showing some of the progress I've been making, but not revealing too much.
Here's a couple of screen shots of a TARDIS wreck that I threw together in a couple of minutes. It's what I call a 'bonus wreck': its not overly detailed, it's hard to find, and wont contain any vital TARDIS components, but if the player does find it, they will be rewarded with a bonus chest of prizes after solving a very simple puzzle. I had stumbled across a rather cool underwater ravine near some land, an area with water and gravel floating above it, and wanted to put something in it. Other than that, I don't have much done besides the spawn area, but I am slowly making progress.
