DMU Hub Suggestions.

DMU Hub Suggestions

I have it from John that the DMU Hub will hopefully be released with or around the time of Update 44. (But this is not a promise, so don’t get too excited!!) Therefore, I have had a few suggestions for this feature which I wish to share, but instead of making multiple threads expressing these, I thought it best to compile them here. In this thread I will cover:

  • Hotbar items/ Navigation of the hub

  • Minigames

  • Official SWD Build team

  • Currency

  • New staff contact system

So without further ado, I will begin.

Navigation of the DMU Hub

Starting off, I suggest that the DMU Hub develops a similar navigation method to that of many other servers, such as Hypixel or Mineplex - the hotbar. The hotbar would contain the following items:

  • Compass (Navigator) - when clicked it would bring up a navigation GUI. This GUI would include Both DMU Servers, Parkour, Spawn point of the DMU Hub, and a minigame lobby.

  • Sunflower (Currency, more on this later)

  • Chest (Cosmetic Menu) - Allows players to select different hats or other cosmetics purchased from the DMU Store or perhaps won from games/achievements.

  • Slimeball (Enable/Disable speed)

  • Player Head (Your stats) - Shows your time played, minigames won, etc.

It would look something similar to this:

Minigames

While I have a few minigame suggestions, we want to know what you would want, and would actually play. (Be sure to leave your own minigame suggestions on this thread, bear in mind they must be vanilla, with exception of plugins.) As for my own suggestions:

  • Survival games

  • Doctor who based ‘Build Battle’

  • Daleks VS Time Lords (Basically a team PVP game.)

  • Spleef [Suggested by ArcPhoenix]

I also think that winning a game should give the player 10 *Currency*, and the losers 1 or 2 *Currency* for playing. I explain how this would work in the Currency section.

Official SWD Build Team

Of course, you cannot have Lobbies, games, parkour etc. without someone to build it! This is why I think an official SWD Build Team would be great for getting these maps built to a good quality. People would be recruited via application, where they must show their building capabilities via images, or showing one of the Build Team leaders a build in game.

Currency

Finally the section I have mentioned a few times already. The currency. Basically, each player will have DMU Hub credit, the amount depends on games won etc. This currency could be used for many things, such as cosmetics, but what I had in mind mainly was being able to convert them into survival credits on DMU Public/Private!! This not only brings another way to get credits, but makes it far more fun and rewarding. What about those who have creative mode then? What do they get out of it? The same thing applies, they convert them into DMU Public/Private credits. What would the point be of this? This is where I suggest the currency on DMU Public/Private changes to a value able to be checked by command, rather than physical item. This also allows players to carry their currency across servers too! Not only does this bring a greater value to currency, it also allows for trade of buildings and such between creative players. In addition to this, it prevents ‘AmdIN Mye CRoiDEETS GOT STEALED!’ as your balance cannot be accessed by any other user. (With the exception of staff, with a command such as /bal   give/take .)

New staff contact system.

Considering that the DMU Hub will introduce more areas for the staff to watch over, an easier way of contacting staff should be included. This could be done a few ways, some of which I will list:

  • New command - /staff - shows online staff throughout all DMU Servers and where to find them.

  • The ability to use /msg through different servers, such as Public to Private (I’d like to tag on that /broadcast should show in chat on all DMU servers)

  • New command - /issue - Stores your given message in an issue GUI like thing, where staff can view any issues players have given. (Spam and abuse of this system would result in banning.) When a new issue is deposited it would alert any online staff members.

So there are my suggestions for the DMU Hub, I tried to keep it fairly brief. If anyone wishes to elaborate on any of my suggestions or give some of their own, feel free to post them on this thread. If you have any questions first visit this thread first, and if they are still unanswered leave them here or ask on my profile

This has my full support Curious.

As a suggestion, maybe there could be Spleef arena? Or maybe something similar?

Yeah, a spleef like game would be good, mind if I throw it in my thread? I intend on adding other's suggestions to mine too :)

This sounds good. Maybe some other minigames could be Spleef (as Arc said) or a Hide and Seek.

HaS could make use of the skinpacks. Hiders use the skin pack to hide amongst Daleks/Autons with NoAI:1b and fake players. The seekers have limited time and health to find all hiders.

Like Guess Who for Garry's Mod?

Yeah, actually. I didn't think of that while I made this.
