Harder to get gear (Suggestion)

When you play survival minecraft, the main point is to mine for resources like Iron and Diamond to survive the endless hordes of mobs that exist in the world. In Dalek mod, however, something I notice is that while players do a small amount of mining, they don't really head straight for the diamonds, but instead kill Daleks for their Dalekanium ingots, which gives the player an armour that has exactly the same/slightly more protection than Diamond. While this isn't always a bad thing, it kind of makes diamonds redundant. So here is my multi step suggestion:

Step one: Decrease the Dalekanium drops from Daleks/Make Dalekanium harder to make.

Basically my idea is to decrease the amount of Dalekanium drop by Daleks to 1-2 Dalekanium nuggets. The massive decrease would mean that it is more difficult to gain this armour and force players back into the mines in search of diamonds.

Step two: Armour Upgrades.

There are two factors in this part. First part, Increase the recipes for all armours in the Dalek mod to Blocks instead of Ingots. Again, makes Dalekanium (and all other armours) more difficult to obtain. Second part is to increase armour strength. Instead of giving more armour points some of the Armours would give other buffs, the clockwork armour could help you mine faster, jump higher and run faster (being made of cogs and mechanics) Aswell as give a small 5% chance to be unnoticed by Clockwork droids. The Steel armour would protect you against lighting and lasers better than Iron, aswell as give you a 10% chance to be unnoticed by Cybermen and the Dalekanium would not only give you more armour, but give laser resistance, Night vision and some degree of hover to the player, aswell as a 25% chance to be unnoticed by Daleks. As a slight bonus, Gold armour would give a thorns effect to Classic Cybermen. Note these effects would work on tools as well, Clockwork sword being able to strike faster, the Steel sword being able to take charge from lighting to become charge (when in this state it would do more damage), the Dalekanium Sword would do alot more damage and the Gold sword would be able to do more damage to Classic Cybermen than the Dalekanium.

Step 3: ORE!

More of an reason why I would like to see this added. different Ores exists one some planets, but it doesn't have much of a purpose, with most players having a full armour already. Now with the armour being more Useful and expensive, players would actively search for different Ores to make the set of armour they want. This means that there would be a reason to travel to DM planets for players who otherwise wouldn't spend more than 5 seconds on the planet. And as you would need a TARDIS to get there, which relates to my harder to obtain TARDIS suggestion: https://swdteam.com/forum?p=thread&tid=2136. And while on the topic of Ores, I personally believe Zeiton-7 Ore should only spawn on Gallifrey (which makes sense, why else would it be a TARDIS component).

And that is my suggestion, hope its understandable and I hope it gets added.

EDIT: Seems Clockwork armour isn't a thing, my bad. Maybe it will be a thing one day.

This has my support, and would be fairly simple to implement - simply tweaking already existing code. Despite this, it could result in more players complaining that it is 'too hard' to obtain good armour and weapons, although should become accustomed to it, and makes the game a little more fun as there is more to do.

I agree with your suggestion and the idea behind it.

Some of these ideas are unique.

However, I feel you could clarify the suggestion on "Ores", as I didn't really understand it at first. Are these ores part of the armour crafting process or something else?

Other than that, it's quite well thought out.

I changed the wording to Ores. I was talking about the Ores which processed forms are dropped by Mobs, E.g Dalekanium cause its dropped by Daleks. Thats why Titanium isn't mentioned here (That can be used in some other thread, maybe its more an Ore used to craft ray guns and things rather than armours?). This is just me saying armour needs to be less easy to get.

Step 2.5 (The optional step): Redesigned armour.

While I like the current armour look, I think the Armours should be more truthful to the Show, For example I think the steel armour should make the player look like the 80's Cybermen (A reference to attack of the Cybermen), and the Dalekanium armour should look like the Trooper armour from Revelation of the daleks. An image of the Dalek trooper armour can be seen on Arcs Dalek minions thread (https://swdteam.com/forum?p=thread&tid=387) under Dalek duplicate.

P.S. Curiously when I was going to get an image of the Dalek soldier on Google it came up with one of the images from this thread, which is kinda funny. Its also why I linked that thread.

Edit: Can the Clockwork helmet look like a Clockwork droids head?

I  Support the idea of redesigned armor,  but i have a suggestion.

Dalekanium armor

When i thought of dalekanium armor,  i think of  wearing Panels of the dalek,  that still have the little round things on the sides,  and maybe even a little eye stalk and lights on top.   And as for the legs of the armor,  maybe use the bottom " skirt "  like design that the daleks have poking out around the legs.  It might work with a trench-coat design,  where the flaps cover  the back and the sides,  but the front is open and you could see the pants.

As for the cyberman armor,  i  agree with  you that it would make you look like an 80's cyberman

Cyber-dalek armor

and if the armor is made much harder to get,

maybe there could be a third set crafted by combining dalek and cyberman armor in a crafting table  ( with some extra ingots for more challenge of course :P )     This armor would be the ultimate set of the mod,  and would be effective against dalek extermination rays and cyberman deletion rays.        it would look  like a cyberman but with dalek armor panels strapped to various pieces and with an eye stalk out the front  ( the  shoulders, belly, knees , elbows , ect  )

here are some images for  what i'm suggesting it might look similar to

I completely support this suggestion and agree completely with your reasoning. I especially like the armor ideas; it would really add a lot more complexity and variety to the mod.

Added bits to Dalekanium, steel and Clockwork armours to give a chance of being unnoticed when wearing those armours.

In reply to Ghostbuster, I'm not really about the Idea of the Dalek cyberman armours, I'm think different pieces of armour will hold a certain effect of the full armour, for example Clock boots and a Steel hat would give the 10% cyber detection decrease but also give you the Clockwork armour's slight jump boost.

Also doesn't clockwork armour give the same amount of armour as leather? If it does the same as iron then it should only be the leather, to make it a bit more fair, I mean Clockwork droids are so easy to kill.

yeah, that might be a little too overpowered now that i re-think it,

also,  i dont think clockwork armor is a thing

Really? I know there is a clockwork sword so I automatically assumed there would be armour too. My bad.
