[Dalek Mod Suggestion (WIP)] Tardis Manager Block [Block, Feature]

Presuggestion:

It's been a while since I last did any major new suggestions. This is something that came into my head some time back and felt like typing up.

For the moment, this suggestion is not in its final state, and I will be making changes to it. I have multiple ideas for this block and will write them down over time.

When the thread is finished, I'll edit the title.

The block itself

Block: Tardis Manager Block

Obtaining: To be decided later

Uses: Multiple uses, which I will explain later.

Function: When this block is interacted with, a GUI will open which will have a menu of features. Most, I will explain later. One feature will be the Tardis information system, described below

Features:

Tardis Information System

Description:  Of the features, this is the one system I feel ready most ready to talk about. In this system, a player can view a list of his or her Tardises. Here a player can see a preview of each Tardis's current Exterior and give a nickname to that Tardis. Hovering over any of the names of any of the Tardises will cause a text box to appear, giving specific information on the Tardis. This will include the current location of the exterior and the current location of the interior

Purpose: This system will allow a user to know where any of his or her Tardises are at any given time, even if he or she lost said Tardis. It would definitely make it easier to find a lost Tardis in DMU or off server.

Tardis Teleportation System

Description: This feature will allow a person to move between his or her Tardises from the Tardis Manager block.

Usage: A player can choose a Tardis from his or her list of Tardises to relocate to. After being teleported, he or she will be desynched from the Tardis he or she is currently in, and synched to the Tardis he or she is teleported to. He or she will appear at the Tardis's door position, and when exiting will exit from the Tardis he or she just teleported to.

Uses: Multiple. One in particular is to remat a Tardis if the exterior is destroyed from another interior.

Note: This feature only works inside the Tardis dimension from a user's own Tardis.

Tardis Deletion

Baseline Description: As the name implies, this allows users to delete their Tardises.

Description: This feature will remove a Tardis's Interior from the Tardis Dimension, delete its Exterior, and delete unneccesary data associated with it.  The removed Tardis will leave a vacancy in the Tardis Dimension to be filled up by a new Tardis Interior

Purposes: Lag reduction. Also, if there's a cap, a user has to have a way to delete unwanted Tardises.

Unanswered Problems: Addressing exactly how the game will know to place a Tardis in another spot and other issues. I'll explain later.

Tardis Cap

Description: The Tardis Cap is the maximum amount of Tardises a user can have. This can be configured via the config file. Trying to place any new Tardises after reaching this cap will not work.

Unaddressed Issues: "What if I want to place a Tardis just for decor?" I'll come back to this issue later.

Transfering Tardises

Description: An Alternate method for transferring Tardises

Details: Coming later

More to come in the future.

Other plans:

Concept images for GUIs

Added the teleportation system.

I'll add some concept images soon of the GUI. Most of it will be photoshopped XD

Brilliant thread! If you need help with it then just ask. I find this would be very useful, especially since in the Dalek Mod public server I have lost my TARDIS way too much.

additionally, I think that there should be a block which changes the interior of the TARDIS, any custom made changes will be removed and placed into a slot (similar to a chest) inside this box, so you can't lose valuable items.

also. you made another TARDIS thread, as did I. Whilst I'm sure we are both working on other important threads. I think that we should work together on this (and I know I say that a lot, sorry).

Thank you. As for the suggestion, it's a bit in the WIP state, but if you have any ideas, I'm all ears.

As for your suggestion, mind if I use the storage part for the deletion system and credit you for that? I may do an interior changing suggestion in the future, but it's not something I'm prepared to work on atm.

Bumping this

Was wondering if i could get a bit more feedback from other users?

Sounds kinda cool, especially the Deletion feature. Just a small thought, maybe there could be a limit on how big interiors can be so that the manager can delete all the interior and not just leave random bits of corridor floating around.

I really think that this could help anyone who owns multiple TARDISes and make things much easier. I can even imagine in the Minecraft Doctor Who universe a Time Lord on Gallifrey sitting with such a block and managing the large number of TARDISes stored in the citadel. Although a downside is I think this would take a lot of time to code. However,  as someone who has no less than three dozen TARDISes scattered randomly in my creative single player world, I definitely support this.

Well, the floating bits thing is definitely something that I'll need to think about, though a size limit wasn't necessarily what I had mind for the deleting system
