The Doctor Who Series'

Hello, I am War_Major. Most of us have more than likely seen all the modern series' of Doctor Who so far so this thread is about your thoughts on each season so far. For example, for me it would be:

Series 1= Amazing, had a good story arc

Series 2= Not bad

Series 3= fun, had another good story arc

Series 4= Very good, amazing finish

Series 5= Interesting

Series 6= Good

Series 7= Not great

Series 8= Ok

Series 9= Rubbish

Please feel free to post yours in the comments! Remember this is a matter of opinion, if you start giving out to some one who doesn't think the same way you do your comment will be removed. Thank you.

My opinion (You may disagree).

I think I agree with you. Series Nine and Seven are my least favourite. The Story arcs in both of them are bad, I mean just who was the Hybrid (The Doctor/Clara ISN'T a hybrid!!!). Why does the First Doctor listen to Clara when she tells him to get in the TARDIS with the faulty navigational system? It seems out of Character for the First Doctor. Why on Earth hasn't the Doctor gone and Resurrected/Recovered all of his past companions when they get stuck/die? Who actually cares about Clara? 'Hell bent' and 'Name of the Doctor' are my least favourite finallies (Name purely because of the ending (why does Clara have to be that Op? No companion is going to be as good as Clara (by good I mean Powerful/Op))). Why does Moffat think the Doctor can just drop all of his morals?

On the plus side (the tiny positive that came from 'Hell Bent'), 'Hell Bent' gave me a good Idea for a regeneration story of Twelve (Not that Twelve regenerating is a good thing). Cryptic teaser: Clara has become like the Doctor, what if she, like the Doctor, decided to Resurrect someone, say Danny Pink?

I'll give an in-depth review of series 9 (Cause I like doing that, shush)

The Magician's Apprentice/The Witch's Familiar- 9/10(a), 9/10(b) 9/10(Whole)

Under the Lake/Before the Flood- 7/10, 8/10, 7.5/10

The Girl Who Died/The Woman Who Lived-  7/10, 7.5/10, 7.25/10

The Zygon Invasion/The Zygon Inversion-  8.5/10, 9/10, 8.5/10

Sleep No More- 3/10 (Rubbish)

Face the Raven/Heaven Sent/Hell Bent- 6/10, 10/10 IGN, 6/10 (Freaking disappointment), 7 2|3/10

Series average= 7/10 (Rounded)

Spoiler territory:

Show content

The Magician's Apprentice/The Witch's Familiar- A great start for series 9, the plot with Davros was pretty unexpected. Missy's humor also added to the episodes.

Under the Lake/Before the Flood- This two-parter was also pretty good, the horror wasn't really scary though. And I loved the guitar theme song :)

The Girl Who Lived/The Woman Who Died- The scene where the Doctor says "I am the Doctor, and I save People!" was kind of wasted at the end of ep.5 in my opinion. When I saw it in the trailer, I thought it was going to be for something REALLY epic. Episode 6 was average, nothing too special, but Maisie Williams' performance was excellent.

The Zygon Invasion/The Zygon Inversion- Great story arc, never really expected a follow-up from The Day of The Doctor, and the return of Osgood really was a surprise. Not to mention the anti-War speech, it was strong and one of the Doctor's best moments in my opinion.

Sleep No More- Oh god...where do I start? The idea of sandmen is far-fetched, the plot development wasn't good, the title screen was un-needed,,,it's just a mess. Really didn't expect this rubbish from Mark Gatiss.

Finales- Face the Raven wasn't too bad, but it wasn't good either. Clara's death seemed a bit too random for me, but it still made my cry a bit... Heaven Sent was amazing, the music, the creepiness of the Veil, the mind-blowing ending, it's one of Moffat's best. Hell Bent was a disappointment, the overall episode was...ok. The end was rushed and the reveal of the hybrid was...TRASH. How can 2 people be a hybrid? That defies the very DEFINITION of the word 'hybrid'. Unless Moffat thinks that a strong enough friendship can make 2 people seem like one, but even that is terrible. Seriously, I would've been happier if he just lazily made Missy half human.

Overall, series 9 was above average, some individual episodes were bad but the overall story arc was ok (Except for the end, the rest of the arc was good) The writers did do a good job of keeping us in suspense.

And one last thing...THANK GOD MOFFAT IS LEAVING
