[Suggestion] Universal Trade Center

Name of Dimension: Universal Trade Center

Description of dimension: The Universal Trade Center (UTC)  is based off of the Trade Federation from star wars. This would work as a shop for single player,  allowing otherwise unobtainable Tardis Blocks and parts to be recieved in singleplayer. They would also sell other basic goods.

Landscape: The UTC would be a giant spaceship, similar to the ships at DMU's Current spawn,  but MUCH larger.   it would consist of a parking area,  and a large hallway with separate rooms for different types of items such as Resources, Food/brewing, Combat/Tools, Blocks, Transport,  and so on.

Hazards (if any)

Security

Show content

Security officers would be everywhere to keep the peace in UTC.  They'd have a behavior like Iron Golems,  in the sense that they'd only attack hostile mobs such as Robbers,  or the player if they hurt any mob in the UTC.  Security officers would be humans in U.N.I.T  style combat armor.

Robbers

Show content

Robbers are mobs that slowly follow the player. Once they reach the player they will try to attack,  in an attempt  to get credits from the player. However as soon as the robber attacks,  if security see's them,  the security will immediately attack the robber, calling other security members to his/her aid.   Robbers can be any species of lower ranking mobs in the DW,  they can also be humans. But some species take pride in their position and will never try to rob the player. For example,  a Dalek will never be a robber because they feel that any other species is inferior and not worth their time.

Shop Divisions:

  • Resources
    Show content
The Resource section would be devoted to both DM and vanilla items such as Ores,  ingots gemstones, wood, and stone.
  • Food/Brewing
    Show content
This section would be devoted to all items to do with food, or brewing.  Here you will be able to purchase things such as edible items, crops,  saplings/seeds(for both vanilla and DM plants), food ingredients unable to be eaten on their own(like eggs). Potion ingredients,  and individual potions will also be available.
  • Combat/tools
    Show content
This section would be devoted to all weapons,  armor,  and tools,  both DM and vanilla alike.   Here you will be able to buy Swords, bows,  sonics, armor, DM clothing, and Tardis Keys.
  • Blocks
    Show content
This will mostlikely be the largest division of the shop,  having blocks from all dimensions both DM and vanilla. This will also be where you can purchase otherwise unobtainable DM Tardis Blocks like roundels, floors and pillars.
  • Transport
    Show content
This is the final UTC Trading room, devoted to all things transportation.  Here the player can purchase Things like saddles,  armor for animals, vehicles like Bessie, and Tardis parts such as monitors,  levers, Handles and others.     Additionally, TARDIS(S)  could also be purchased here,  until the feature of getting your TARDIS from Gallifrey is Added.

How the player gets there:

With a tardis The player can get to the UTC by selecting it in the monitor and traveling there. The icon in the monitor would either be a spaceship or some logo  with the letters UTC.  Entering with your Tardis will override your coord control and place you on an empty parking space in the parking section of the UTC. Additionally you won't be able to summon your tardis anywhere in the UTC outside of parking.

Without a tardis The player will have to find a resource collection fleet.  This will be a spaceship landed in certain biomes to collect resources.  As the workers scurry around busily hauling things onto the ship, you must enter, find the ships captain, and convince him to let you travel with them to the UTC.  The captain will almost always charge you credits for flying him but theres a small chance he'll let you fly for free.   Upon convincing him, you will be teleported into the parking section of the UTC. Next to the spaceship you took there, which has landed in a parking spot. Exiting will work the same way, and you will be teleported back to the ship on the overworld.

Grief Prevention:

Being a place of trade, this will contain a large amount of items of value. As a way to counter players stealing these,  if the player tries to mine a block in this dimension,   it will  cause all security to become hostile to the player

Other notes: all trades in the UTC will be done with credits ONLY,  as they are DM's universal currency

EDIT:   I feel so stupid,  but i just now been informed that credits are not obtainable in singleplayer survival, making this entire thread pointless UNLESS credits are added as a survival mob drop.

Few issues with this.

1) Credits are only dropped by mobs on DMU. How would you obtain credits?

2) Worldguard is a multiplayer thing.

3) Why would a multi-alien ship sell TARDIS Keys and only have parking areas for TARDISes?

1)  i could swear i've gotten credits in survival before from killing mobs

2) touche...

3)for tardis keys and items, that would only be temporary until the getting your tardis from Gallifrey system is added.  in the sense of parking, the "parking spaces" would be for all vehicles,  but have the possibility for TARDIS(s) to land on them.  the spaces.  A few spots could have things like ice warrior ships,  Sontaran ships,  and the relatively small dalek and cyberman crafts.

"Parking spaces" makes me think of the 3x3 things on DMU. Now you've explained that, it makes a bit more sense.

Will there be like multiple... Lets refer them to "Parking lots" around the UTC?  Eg: 2 the same size on opposite sides of the UTC?  And what would happen if all the spots are full?

This reminds me of the Outpost from Starbound. I find this an interesting idea.

 oh yea, totaly!!

in singleplayer, there wouldnt be that many tardises taking up space,   in multiplayer,  staff could enforce parking rules like at /warp tardisparking in DMU before the world reset,  where it would be cleared at the end of every month.

additionally the lot would have multiple parking levels,  with the bottom being a solid metal-appearing block, and the upper floors being made of stained glass to give a "solid hologram"  or "light bridge "  kind of feel to it

Sounds cool Ghost, maybe add a limit on how many tardis.

add a limit on how many tardis what?   how many can stay there?

Yes my computer shut down in the middle of typing that's what I meant!

well, the limit would be the size of the parking lot,    how many spaces there are.    And there could be a monthly parking clearing with multiple warnings and notices like in the tardisparking on DMU before the world reset
