I just finished making my custom interior, I go to use the flight panel and it gives fire particles and flies oddly when I do. Is this normal?

yes thats normal,  you just have it set to do that in the config file!

i'm not sure exactly where in it,  but if you hit escape, then click config,  you'll find toggles for random flying and flight particles
