Well I just updated to the 1.8 ver. recently, and found myself stuck on Overworld. Is the interplanetary travel disabled for 1.8 yet or is it just me being stupid and missing something obvious?

And one more thing: I've seen loads of screenshots of people using some 32x textures for DM. Where can I find that?

 Well, 1.8 in't really an update. It's an alternate version.

Also it's missing loads of features at the moment. (I believe the only non-vanilla/not based on an old version of vanilla dimension in 1.8 is Skaro)

As for the Textures, idk. I do know that there's a guy making a "Whovian Resource Pack" which is compatible with the Dalek Mod

The Whoville Resource pack is only for Matt's/Didgeridoomen's vanilla server Whoville, which requires it for Cybermen-skinned Zombies etc.

There is Faithful 32x32, it's a nice texture pack that makes normal Minecraft textures look more high-definition and easier on the eyes. You can find it anywhere, just google it.

Just don't download it from sites like Minecraftsix/minecraft9 or from this list here as they give you viruses upon download.

 That's the point, I love 32x, but have seen no DM 32x resource packs so far, only some screenshots with double textures

 Use the TARDIS monitor, found inside the TARDIS. Right-click it... it should be pretty easy from there. If still stuck, please look through the update videos on the SWDTeam youtube channel, 1 should have it...
