Name of Feature: Tardis Repair System
Lore:
Imagine that you crash your Tardis, or you regenerate inside it, there's a chance it needs to repair and you can't use it for a while (5-15 mins?), it kicks you out.
The way this would work is changing the interior with a little system I came up with.
Ok first of all this would only work with "official" Tardises to put it that way.
Let's say the console and room, the main room is divided in different sectors wich could be console, floor, ceiling, block colors (roundels) , size (probably not, it would be hard)...
I don't know much about programming, but I guess it could work by generating some kind of... pattern or key, with numbers.
These numbers tell the system wich type of block it is, wooden stair, stone slab... and where to place it.
The console would be a non-changing thing, and it would only change the color of the blocks.
For example, if the key is... idk, 8889 and there's a beacon and a coloured crystal block that changes the beam color, when it repairs itself it could change the color of beam by changing the crystal.
Or the stairs could be switched to slabs, anything.
How this affects gameplay:
The Tardis is kind of overpowered, you can live in it, travel with it without having to "give" anything.
So I think this would balance things, you'd have to build another shelter if yours is in the Tardis, you would have to kill mobs...
I support this, but we do have to give quite a lot for a Tardis. We need to get the resources to build it and get the exterior/interior we want. I do like the idea of having it repair itself. My question is, what would happen if we have chests and stuff in the Tardis when it gets damaged and repairs itself? Will we have a chance of losing our chests and its contents along with any enchantment tables or anvils?
I love this idea, but I think if a tardis is gonna repair itself on DMU example then it will probaly cause alot of lag xD but idk how to develop things. Maybe it is possible maybe not.
this sounds realy cool apart from maby it shuold have an option in the mod options to turn it on and of
Good idea! Maybe it could have set interiors such as spaceblocks or Elevens first/Second. Then the changing block could be there also. And the TARDIS windows could glow while its changing. Glow really really bright. And at what damage level would the TARDIS change? But I think this should be added to the mod.

Good idea; a nice idea would be for it to regenerate if it receives a damage that would be enough to kill Steve.
If you fall from enough height to kill Steve, but you are inside the Tardis, then this would absorb the impact and repair itself.
I mentioned your suggestion in a suggestion I wrote. Hope you don't mind. :) My suggestion

No problem :P
But what would happen to those who have giant bases in their tardises?

Maybe you could be able to deactive the "changing feature" and only make it repair itself so nothing happens :P

Or you could have a menu for a custom tardis so you can draw where the walls and ect are... Bit like a Blueprint
I love everything about this Idea … But would SWD have to Completely Re-write the Code for the Tardis for this to be incorporated into the Mod ?
I myself know nothing about programming it is just a hunch I have …
All in all Brilliant Idea I would love to see in the Mod
