Background: Was playing on DMU earlier and ran into a Dalek. My instincts kicked in when it started firing, and I held up my shield... Only for that to not work at all. At first, I wondered if it was a bug, but as I thought on it, it made sense. Why would a Minecraftian shield be any use against the superior technology of the Dalek race? But, what if it could be matched? A Dalekenium shield. While we're at it, how about one made of Cyberman metal as well?

Item 1: The Steel Shield

Description: A shield made of Cyberman metals. Defends against most extraterrestrial weapons. Has more durability than a wood-and-iron shield

Crafting: This shield will require primarily steel. Perhaps it will be in the shape of the vanilla shield. No wood will be used for this recipe however.

Use: Right-click to hold up the shield. You cannot attack while the shield is up.

Extended Notes: I imagine this shield will defend against attacks of both vanilla MC mobs and some of the Dalek Mod mobs. It will not defend against Daleks for sure. You all remember what happened the last(?) time Cybermen fought Daleks.

Item 2: The Dalekanium shield

Description: A shield made of the metal of a Dalek casing. Defends against  almost all extraterrestrial weapons. Has more durability than a steel shield.

Crafting: This shield will require primarily Dalekanium. Perhaps it will be in the shape of the vanilla shield. No wood will be used for this recipe however.

Use: Right-click to hold up the shield. You cannot attack while the shield is up.

Extended notes: This shield will defend against most DM mobs and all MC mobs. Perhaps there will be some exceptions of mod mobs, but it will defend against most Dalek guns.

It's been a while since I last did a suggestion. This one's fairly simple compared to past ones, but it's definitely one that I feel would be a great addition to the mod. Let me know what you think in the comments. Any suggestions to add to this one? Let me know and I may make changes or additions.

Update: Suggestion implemented into the mod, although without the ability to defend against laser fire. I hope that part gets implemented eventually

I love the idea. I was recording a video earlier today and discovered that the shields didn't work with Daleks. I went onto the site, and saw this thread. Talk about a coincidence.
