Tardis Suggestions Series: Part 6- Tardis Health System

A Tardis Health System is something that has been requested many times by users. thrown ideas around in my head, but I don't have anything exact.

I'm taking suggestions if anyone has any.

Goals

1. Come up with a Tardis Health System
2. Come up with a way of Checking the Health in a Tardis, both from inside the console room and in flight mode
3. Come up with some ways a Tardis can be damaged
4. Mention Consequences of having a damaged Tardis and consequences of having a health bar fully completed
5. Come up with a way of Fixing the Tardis
   
   

Mechanic: Tardis Health System

Description of Mechanic: Much like the player, the Tardis will have a health system. Health will be deplenished when the Tardis is damaged in ways such as colliding with hazardous objects or being hit by a very powerful weapon. The immediate effects of the health replenishing will be situation based. In some scenarios, for example, a depleted Tardis Health bar can mean death to a player while others may just result in a crash landing. With mostly deplinished health, the Tardis will not fly right, cloister bells may be heard, the time rotor will sound strained, and the Tardis may not fly straight. Often, the Tardis will not be able to fly until repaired. I have ideas in my head on how a Tardis may be fixed, one of them involving a Merchant who sells Tardis Repairing Tools

How should this be implemented: As said before, this is a very wip suggestion and in no way a complete post. I have many, many ideas I have for this that just aren't completed yet. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm looking forward to hearing them

 WIP ideas

Mob: Drax

As Seen in: Armageddon Factor

Lore: Drax is a Renegade Time Lord who was one a member of the Deca (A group that the Doctor belonged to while in a Time Lord Academy). He had a knack for tinkering and is still on good terms with the Doctor (unlike a few others from the Deca. Chiefly the Monk, the Rani, the Master, and the War Chief)

Function in game: He will either be a companion or a merchant (I haven't decided).

• As a merchant, Drax would sell tools and parts that help to repair the Tardis
• As a companion, Drax would make repairing the Tardis take less time and require less resources. That or he can repair for you while you're away doing something else

Description: Every now and then a few Tardis Parts may need a bit of repairing. Whether it's because your hull took too much damage, you had a rough time in the Vortex, or the part is just old and blew a fuse.

GUI:

When clicked on, the player will have a GUI with two options. 

1. The player can view vital Tardis Parts that he or she does not currently have (I'll decide a bit later on how it checks this)
2. View faukts

Faults so far:

• Travel
  • Lateral Balance Cones 
    • Landing in the Right place at the wrong time
    • Fixed from the Tardis Monitor
  • Helmic Regulator 
    • Makes flight in the Time Vortex less controlled
    • There will be some margin of error upon landing for the coords you entered
    • Fixed from the Fault Locator
  • Directional Unit 
    • The Player will Frequently land on the wrong planet
    • Fixed from the Tardis Monitor
• Comparator or Dematerialization Circuit
  • Tardis cannot  take off
  • Fixed from the Demat Lever
• Chameleon Circuit
  
  • It can get stuck and need to be fixed
  • It can wind up faulty (like in Attack of the Cybermen) (more details a bit later)
  • Fixed from the Tardis Monitor

Any other information:

• The player will be able to repair these faults with some tools and some resources
• I'm considering Drax as a possible companion who can help make repairs faster. Likewise I'm also considering just having him sell tools or repair parts.
