[Dalek Mod Suggestion Compilation] Decoration Block Suggestion Thread [Decorative Blocks]

Block 1- Dyed Wood Planks

Feature: Dyed Wood Planks

Description of Feature: These blocks are no different from normal wood planks in function, and they can be used in any recipe that calls for wooden planks. The only difference is appearance.

Crafting recipe:

Wooden Planks | Wooden Planks | Wooden Planks |

Wooden Planks |     Dye (any)       Wooden Planks |

Wooden Planks Wooden Planks | Wooden Planks |

 Yields 8 Dyed Wood

Block 2- Dyed Wooden Doors

Crafting recipe: 6 Dyed Wooden Plank blocks in the formation of the Vanilla Wooden Door

| Dyed Wooden Planks | Dyed Wooden Planks           Air         |

| Dyed Wooden Planks | Dyed Wooden Planks           Air         |

| Dyed Wooden Planks | Dyed Wooden Planks           Air         |

Purpose: Decor and a Crafting ingredient for some of the following blocks

Block 3-

Craftable Tardis Doors (Originally Suggested by DeloreanPro and expanded upon by Arcphoenix)

Feature: A "plain" variant of Tardis Doors

Description of Feature:

The thing DeleoreanPro suggested was a variant of Tardis Doors. These Tardis doors will act like regular vanilla doors and are mainly for purposes of Decoration.

My Suggestion is exactly that. I suggest that new blocks called "Tardis Door (Decor)" should be added to the mod

Crafting Recipe

  • Blue Wooden Door and an iron ingot to the direct left or right in the crafting grid (I may change this at some point to be a bit cheaper or to produce more doors per ingot)

| Blue Wooden Door |   Iron Ingot     |

|             Air                |     Air               |

Design:

  • When the player shift-clicks on a door with an empty hand, a gui will come up. The player will then be able to decide which design he or she wants.
    • Kinds of doors:
      • Exterior (has the External Tardis door design (I'm referring to how the "functional Tardis doors" have two sides) on both sides)
      • Interior (Has the Interior Tardis door design on both sides)
      • Hybrid 1 (has the exterior Tardis door design as the "inside door face" and the interior Tardis door design as the "outside door face")
      • Hybrid 2 (has the exterior Tardis door design as the "outside door face" and the interior Tardis door design as the "inside door face")

Any other Information:

  • Functional Tardis Doors will likely be made of Omegaton and have a similar design changing GUI. I'll add this to one of my posts a bit later

Block 4-

Lamp Post Crafting Recipe & Lamp Block

Feature:

A crafting recipe for a lamp post and a new Lamp Block

Description of Feature:

I'll add this a bit later

Crafting Recipes:

Lamp (Light that needs redstone to be powered)

| Glass Pane |        Iron Ingot      | Glass Pane |

| Glass Pane | Glowstone Dust | Glass Pane |

| Glass Pane |   Redstone Dust  | Glass Pane |

Lamp (Self-Powered Light): Fill a grid with glass panes, but but glowstone in the middle, an iron ingot at the top, and a redstone block at the bottom

| Glass Pane |         Iron Ingot       | Glass Pane |

| Glass Pane |   Redstone Block  | Glass Pane |

Lamp Post:

|                  |        Lamp           |                  |
|    Lever     |(The one which    |     Glass   |
|                  | needs Redstone |       Block  |
                       for power)
         |                 |

|     Iron      |       Redstone      |     Iron      |

|    Ingot     |          Dust            |    Ingot     |
|                 |
|                 |

|     Iron      |      Redstone       |    Iron      |

|    Ingot     |         Block           |    Ingot     |
|                 |
|                 |

Police Box (Not a Tardis)

What is the purpose of this:

This would add two new light source blocks to the game as well as make the Lamp Post craftable

Block 5-

Decorative Snow Dalek

Crafting Recipe:

|         Snow           | Dalek Eyestalk |          Air                |

|         Snow           |          Stick            | Wooden Plank |

|         Snow           |         Snow           |          Air                 |

Other Function:

I'm thinking it could be used as a way to scare off a certain mob.

Just which mob though I haven't decided yet.

Does anyone know any DW foes with Dalekphobia?

Post was cut in half. Continued in the next comment

Block 6-

Police Box (Not a Tardis)

Crafting Recipe:

| Blue Dyed Wooden Planks |                    Lamp                 | Blue Dyed Wooden Planks |

| Blue Dyed Wooden Planks |                  Blue Door           | Blue Dyed Wooden Planks |

| Blue Dyed Wooden Planks |              Wooden Slab        | Blue Dyed Wooden Planks |

Aesthetics:

  • The inside is textured to look like a normal police box.
  • The Door Opens and closes

Purpose:

  • It's Cheaper to craft than the current Tardis, but it's not actually a Tardis
  • It's great for easy-to-make decor.
  • Good as a decoy if you need it for some reason.
  • Maybe it could be used in some roleplay or adventure maps?

Any other Information:

  • I may add an easter egg or a special purpose for it's phone. I haven't decided yet

Block 7- Telephone Box (Not a Tardis)

Crafting Recipe:

| Red Dyed Wooden Planks | Red Dyed Wooden Planks | Red Dyed Wooden Planks |

|    Glass or Plastic Block       |                      Red Door               | Red Dyed Wooden Planks |

| Red Dyed Wooden Planks |                 Wooden Slab           | Red Dyed Wooden Planks |

Aesthetics:

  • The Door Opens and closes
  • The inside will be textured to have a telephone on a wall

Purpose:

  • Adds a crafting Recipe for the Telephone Box and makes it obtainable if SWD Team decides to make it an actual block rather than just a model loader block

Any other Information:

  • I may add an easter egg or a special purpose for it's phone. I haven't decided yet

Block 8-

"Bad Wolf Police Box" (Not a Tardis)

Obtaining:

When a Sign is placed on a Police Box and exact following is typed "badWolfMeme," the Police Box will become a Bad Wolf Police Box

Block 9-

"Bill and Ted Box" (Not a Tardis)

Obtaining:

Crafted from yellow wood planks placed over a Telephone Box. The recipe also calls for a bit of grey dye placed in any location in the crafting grid

|                         Air                            | Yellow Dyed Wooden Planks |

|                  Grey Dye                       |             Telephone Box                |

Aesthetics:

  • The inside looks the same as the Bill and Ted Tardis
  • The Door Opens and closes

Purpose:

  • It's Cheaper to craft than the current Tardis, but it's not actually a Tardis
  • It's great for easy-to-make decor.
  • Good as a decoy if you need it for some reason.
  • Maybe it could be used in some roleplay or adventure maps?

Block 10-

Lego Dimensions Police Box (Not a Tardis)

Obtaining:

Crafted from Lego Bricks. Lego Bricks are made from plastic. I'll go a bit more in detail on it a bit later

Aesthetics:

  • The inside is textured to look like a normal police box (In a Lego Sticker Style of course).

Block 11- Gutted Roundel (WIP)

Obtaining: WIP

Aesthetics: An open Roundel with many cords coming out of it

Purpose: Allows a user to have a bit of a decorative element to his or her Tardis

Block 12- Uncovered Roundel (WIP)

Obtaining: WIP

Aesthetics: An open Roundel with a number of controls and circuits inside

Purpose: Allows a user to have a bit of a decorative element to his or her Tardis

It could also perhaps be used to make Tardis Repairs

Post got cut. See the next comment for more

Block 13- Dimmed Roundel (WIP)

Obtaining: There will be a decorative version too; however, these will also be a functioning one

Aesthetics: An Roundel that's dimmer than usual in the center

Purpose: Allows a user to have a bit of a decorative element to his or her Tardis

The Functional Version: If the team can do it without having the game lag too much (I'm not sure if they could) they will appear momentarily when the Tardis takes damage. (If a Tardis health system is added)

When it does, some roundels (only a few of them, and they have to be within a certain range of the player) will flicker.

Block 14- Seventh Doctor's Umbrella as a Block and Item (Suggested by NexusVanguard)

New Feature: The Seventh Doctor's Umbrella can be propped up against a wall as decor for a room

How do you suggest we implement this: Perhaps using a different control input (ie: 'ctrl'+'Right-Click') will place the umbrella while just right clicking might open up the umbrella and cause it to render in the player's hand.

Block 15- Sixth Doctor's Umbrella as a Block

How do you suggest we implement this: Same as Seventh's umbrella. Just as a retexture/remodel

I'm taking ideas. If anyone has any ideas, feedback suggestions, or comments. Feel free to reply below

Update: Added a few Roundels. Details are mostly WIP though

Added a few more things to this thread. Specifically, the umbrella idea NexusVanguard had

Two item suggestions to go with these two blocks

Block 11- Gutted Roundel (WIP)

Obtaining: WIP

Aesthetics: An open Roundel with many cords coming out of it

Purpose: Allows a user to have a bit of a decorative element to his or her Tardis"

And

Block 12- Uncovered Roundel (WIP)

Obtaining: WIP

Aesthetics: An open Roundel with a number of controls and circuits inside

Purpose: Allows a user to have a bit of a decorative element to his or her Tardis

It could also perhaps be used to make Tardis Repairs

I'd recommend "Wiring" as an item for crafting "Block 11" (And other stuff if you can think of it) And biocircuits or just circuit for "Block 12"

Also there is something rather fitting about seeing Sixth sticking his head in a load of wires.

I think once made a suggestion on cables once.

I'll see if I can find it

I think once made a suggestion on cables once.

I'll see if I can find it

Okay. That'd be wonderful in here.

I guess I forgot to suggest it.

Well, I have to go study in a bit. I'll put something up on it a bit later
