In the days when Gallifreyan society had only just mastered trans-dimensional   engineering, in the early days after Omega was first thought dead, time travel was something only just beginning. The first TARDIS (or as they called it, a type1 TT capsule) was made. It only had one interior room, millions less than the ones that came after it. However it worked and the Time Lords then set about making more. Type1 TT capsules were small but had many much needed things such as a basic hologram communications as well as oxygen and electric charging spaces.

I have never seen a half console, that is a very clever idea, I love it haha
