[Dalek Mod Suggestion] Dimensional Rifts and 3D Glasses [Travel]

Special thanks:

NexusVangiard

I love your ideas, but i'm not too fond of this one. Seems a bit like the dimensions fusing. I suggest "rifts" that could spawn and take you to a random dimension or puts you on another point in the same dimension. Just my feedback, if you can make up a reason that players go into these rifts that might help this a lot.

Feature 1: 3D Glasses Changes

Item to change: 3D Glasses

Description of Suggested Change:

The 3D Glasses will now have an ability to see dimensional rifts and allow a player to interact with them

Obtaining:

  • Crafting:
    • Blue Plastic
    • Red Plastic
    • Nether Star or perhaps some item from a Dalek Mod Dimension
    • Paper or White Plastic
  • Finding them
    • As a second way of obtaining them, they can sometimes be found in the Crashed Tardises I suggested a while back if the team decides to add them

Any other details:

  • If the player is a Timelord, he or she will have an added bonus of being able to see nearby rifts through blocks
    • There could be an arrow on screen pointing to the closest rift and saying the distance
    • Perhaps (as a Timelord) using a Sonic screwdriver on a rift will tell...
      • Dimension
        • Unstable if none
      • Time Era
        • Unstable if none

Feature 2: Dimensional Rifts

Description:

Dimensional Rifts can be a new alternate form of travel across Dimensions and Time in the Dalek Mod.

They always pick a random place in space and time and going through will take the user there

Location/Spawning:

  • Dimensional rifts will spawn in random locations in any dimension
  • They can be created artificially (details on that later)

Variants:

There are 2 variants

  • Destination
    • Completely random
      • These rifts will always take the user to a random place when walked into, however they tend to be less stable and will disappear after a few uses or a period of time
    • Set
      • These rifts when first used will always take the user to a random place and time when first used
      • The destination will stay the same on each successive use
  • Direction
    • 1 way
      • These Rifts have no return rift
    • 2 way
      • There will be a rift upon landing going back the way you came

Operation:

  • While wearing 3D Glasses, using the right mouse button will send you through the rift.
  • There will be a cooldown after traveling through a rift in which you need to wait to go through a rift again

Removing a rift:

  • I'm thinking of how this can be done atm

Feature 3: Particle Effect- Void Stuff

Particle Color: Green

Lore: (copied from the Tardis Wiki)

"Void stuff, as it was described by the Tenth Doctor, was a type of background radiation that clung to those who travelled through the Void. The Doctor was able to show its presence on himself and all those who had travelled to or from Pete's World with his 3-D glasses. A full opening of any breach into the Void would violently pull the matter back in, along with anything it was clung to.

During the Battle of Canary Wharf, the Daleks from the Genesis Ark and the Cybermen were more susceptible to being pulled in because they had been super-saturated with Void stuff."

-Tardis Wiki

Caused by: Travelling through a Dimensional Rift

Visible when: Wearing 3D Glasses

Effects:

  • Effect 1: Vortex Pull (It'd be more like the canon, but tbh I'm unsure whether this is really a good idea or not)
    • Once the radiation of void stuff reaches a certain point, Rifts start having a sort of magnetic effect on you
      • At low levels of Radiation, it's really short ranged, slow, and minimal
      • Somewhere in the middle, it takes a bit of time walking away from a rift, but it's escapable
      • At the highest Saturation reachable through normal means, going into a rift means death (the explanation being that you can't escape once inside it)
      • At Maximum saturation (not reachable by normal means. Likely requiring using commands or else.) you would get pulled strongly at a very high speed towards a rift
  • Traceability (I'm still thinking about this one)
    • At high levels of Stauration, perhaps certain mobs will be able to track down the player
    • Maybe there can be a device for tracking rift energy, and once you reach a really high level of it, you'll show up in these devices
  • I'll add more effects a bit later

Extra Uses:

  •  There will be a method allowing a player to remove Void Stuff from himself or herself and keep it in a bottle or something to use for something. I'm not exactly sure just what for yet, but I may think of something later.

To be added Later

  • Special Mob Spawning rifts. A bit like the ones suggested in the Cyberman Suggestion thread

If anyone has any feedback, criticism, suggestions, or comments they'd like to say, feel free to reply below

Isn't Huon something from DWCM? Or did it actually appear in the show before

 oh

Huon particles appeared in "The Runaway Bride", as for the bottled void stuff I might have an idea for that.

Ah. And ok, what did you have in mind?

I'm not quite finished figuring it out yet, but what I can say is that it technically isn't from doctor who. I made it up.

Well, from what I have developed, my idea is based off of a Time Lord I made up known as the Engineer. He built a specially designed TARDIS that can travel to different universes without leaving a scar in the fabric of reality. Perhaps, if something similar was added to the mod then bottled void stuff could be used as a fuel source to travel across dimensions.

 Interesting.

If you come up with any other details, just let me know

I added a few effects. Though, I'm not too sure about them atm  tbh

Well, another idea I just came up with is to use the bottled void stuff to create a potion of teleportation. Then, you can add certain ingredients so that it will take to specific dimensions.

Also, to include the details of the Engineer's TARDIS that could be implemented into the mod would require a thread. However, I don't know if the SWD team would use an idea that is barely even based off of DW.

I imagine it might be possible.

The Delorean and Gravity Falls cart were in game, there are the Image Loader Blocks, and there's also the Gravity Falls Skinpack.

So, how do you suggest I go about presenting the information.

Here is a list of the necessary (at least, the ones that I came up with) items for the Engineer's TARDIS: Theta stars, void steel, void steel alloy, void stone, the Theta Rod, Theta Rod port, and (to implement the void stuff) void stuff fuel cell.

People are starting to want the dalek mod to become more like DWCM ever since that bigger on the inside effect was announced.  Plus I'm pretty sure huon particles did appear but that wasn't too much of a thing apparently. Iking has just extended on that.
