I was using the schematica mod printer today to fix my wall that griefed by some asshole and I was told by mcidiot and acedia that the printer was not allowed

Thing I was fixing:

this is the rest of the wall that was entirely built using the printer

As you can see it is very detailed and would have been insane to try to build without the printer 

as I am not using this in any negative way that harms anyone this is a pretty stupid rule and in my opinion it should be removed, I have all the materials I need to build it and the printer is a tool I use to speed things up. I should be able to use it to build and fix other peoples greifs because it doesn't hurt anyone.

 Shane, while you are using it with good reasons and have a good backing behind this. You still are at fault in a few ways. Although, I don't blame you for missing them

To clarify I was told by Kyron who contacted Reddash on this topic, who said that the Printer in schematica was not allowed for members who were not staff.

So if Reddash or 1WTC could clarify this topic please.

P.S Shane thank you for making this topic and not just going ahead and using it as you said. Though in the future I would appreciate a little less arguing and rudeness prior to this. I am just passing on the word and doing my job. 

1. This is the kind of thing you should have contacted an admin about
2. You're using it for good, but Seeing what it can do, it could be used as a griefing tool on a massive scale by those with bad intentions
   • And saying that "you should be able to use it"
     • The thing that makes rules actually work is that they're non favoring, and nonexclusive.
     • It wouldn't be "fair" per se if only you could use this. Maybe you can suggest it as an admin tool, but it really shouldn't be exclusive to everyone but you

the problem isn't that it hurts anyone its because its BOTTING as Ace has already claimed. Not all rules are based around harm there are reasons to make rules.

 I agree The reason is that is it botting and he clearly stated that he used it to create his entire wall already... 
I am not banning him for what happens in the past nor am I banning him at all unless he breaks the rule prior to Reddash's input.

Botting is unfair for the entirety of the server. So that is what I believe it is banned because of.

Its giving you access to W/E type status, technically. your wall can be fixed by server staff or an swdbae. I understand why you want to use the program, but its not a fair thing to be using.

BTW, what mini map are you using?

I'm sorry, botting sucks, i don't think it should be on the server at all. As an ex runescape player, i know botting ruins everything .-.

I was wondering if lines were ever actually drawn on allowed or unallowed mods since then or if it's just a bit of an unwritten rule.

If it is unwritten, there should, in my opinion, be something on the ruleboard or a forum thread defining what mods should or shouldn't be used.

I'm not defending Shane by saying this, but I feel it is something that could help in the future.

While I agree botting is bad this feature doesnt harm or gain anything other than asthetcs 

 So from no one no rank is allowed to use printer mode?
