Name Of Feature:
Remote TARDIS Flight
Description:
Simply put, it does the exact opposite of the TARDIS key. This feature would allow the player to dematerialise their TARDIS by shift-right clicking it with a sonic device. Similarly, a seperate device (which I haven't thought too much about yet) could be used to open the TARDIS GUI, allowing the player to fly their TARDIS from outside.
Lore/ Brief Background:
As seen in The Parting Of The Ways (series 1, episode 13) Christopher Eccleston's 9th Doctor uses the sonic screwdriver to dematerialise the TARDIS and take Rose back to Earth, As seen in this clip (uploaded by The Official Doctor Who YouTube Channel)
In fact, the Doctor pilots or at least controls the TARDIS remotely SOOOO often. like the time Tennant clicked his fingers to open the door (Silence In The Library). Or the time Jodie Whittaker uses her sonic to stabilize it (The Ghost Monument). Although, to be fair, that wasn't really "piloting" or "controlling"...
How Does This Affect Gameplay:
It doesn't... not really...
I mean, being without your TARDIS doesn't really help anyone, its really just a cool immersion feature. Although, I suppose you could use the feature to remotely lock or open the doors...
Image:
Welllllll, since it's the just the Sonic Screwdriver, y'all already know what it looks like.
A separate device to open the TARDIS GUI could looks pretty different though. maybe it could look something like the vortex manipulator or (if you've ever seen it ) the Pip-Pad Mod for Fallout 4, as seen below
This used to be sort of possible with a demat lever and monitor interacting with the last tardis you entered, but i think this was removed/patched with the port from 1.8 to 1.12
