How Would You Get On The Public Server?
Currently there is a feature in update 40, where you see a server icon, currently no working, the "Public" server would probably be posted there.

I am excited about this, but the more private server allowed more because there weren't griefers or people with bad intentions, so knowing thats going away is upsetting. I really liked being able to build more freely and have more permissions, actually forget the permissions thats not true.
Is the whitelist from the previous server still in place? If so, will all the previous players on the whitelist be able to join? Thanks for the help.

There will be no whitelist

The private server is not going anywhere, we will be having two servers, one private and one public

Like when Beta access people received Update 40 before its official release. Also: will the Beta access users still have access to the Beta access server, AND will the people with ranks (SWDBae, Moderators, etc) retain their ranks on public D.M.U.?
Yes, I'm sure there will be early Dalek Mod Test builds for later updates. John mentioned on the Minecraft Forums that the moderators/admins of the private server along with beta access users will be staff on the upcoming new public server.
Yes, you will still be able to play on the private DMU server along with the new public one.
This post is talking about a new public server, not Beta Access people losing their ranks/privilages. Don't worry. :)
