Why you were banned: X-raying
Ban duration: Until 16/01/2025 (UK date because I got confused with American date)
What were you doing last on the server: I just got my TARDIS after grinding for like a week. (I didn't X-ray for any of the materials for the TARDIS)
Why you think you should be pardoned early (Please keep this factual. We understand you are sorry that you got banned so please stick with the facts):
I was just x-raying for a couple of diamonds to repair my armour and tools, which I know is cheating and yes I got banned for breaking the rules but surely being banned until 16/01/2025 is a long time for something small like that, obviously I don't know what you lot consider as fair and unfair in terms of ban times but it said I would only be able to play again after New Years! That is a long time. I was just wondering if it could be more like 1 or 2 days since I wasn't x-raying for anything that would ruin the game for other people or myself and I had also been completely x-ray and cheat free until this (this is true I know you can check), I hadn't cheated at all for materials for my TARDIS, my base, actually crafting my armour, actually crafting my tools etc. If you think I should just wait out my ban then whatever I guess it is the rules but I don't think being banned until 16/01/2025 is fair for what I did realistically.
Don't ignore this and don't be unreasonable.
That duration is reasonable, especially since you admitted to doing it… breaking the rules. I was banned today for the same duration, as I loaded up my old 1.16.5 curseforge profile from awhile back, and an xray mod was detected when I tried to load into the server (which was how I found out there was one installed onto the profile). I then immediately deleted it.
Fast forward to today: I joined and played for a solid hr, strip mining in a constant straight line. Got really lucky and accumulated a total of at least 40 diamonds. I was soon met by a ban for xraying. I wasn’t using X-ray mods, even when the server doesn’t allow you to join with them.
Not to compare offences or anything, but you’d be pretty damn lucky to get your ban reduced when you’ve admitted to breaking a rule. Meanwhile I’m here getting the exact same ban duration for joining with a mod I wasn’t aware of, and allegedly using a mod which literally can’t be used in the server

We also do client checks once you join DMU, the reason we have the entire rules and tos screen you HAVE to accept before even joining the server.
The xray kick prevents it, but of course we know resourcepacks and other xray mods we are not aware of exist, and your client flagged you as an xray user today.
We dont ban solely on this, while the checks cant technically be wrong, there can always be false flags (Garbage In, Garbage Out (GIGO))
But once youre flagged, we will watch your step, I saw that you were stripmining in the beginning but at my second check on you, you went straight to ores on the sides (which is not a normal strip mining pattern) and looked at walls.
Like 2 months ago our modchecker wouldve instantly permbanned you, but now they kick instead and require staff input.

Thanks for the detailed response, I appreciate it.
For the record, there were a few bits of irl stuff going on in the background as I was playing. I logged off and back on a few times, and kept going afk briefly too. I do get paranoid from missing stuff sometimes when mining, so I tend to stray from the path after finding ores. Past luck has taught me to check around the area, as more often than not I find more.
I just wish you had replied to my ban appeal, as you seem very neutral and professional. Anyway farewell, thanks again for the response! :)

I am not allowed to check your appeal, since I was the one who banned you. We used to have Staff (way back then) that just banned and instantly denied someones appeal, so now the one that banned you isnt allowed to take your appeal just so that another Staff Member can also look at the evidence provided and make a decision.
Generally, while your appeal is denied it is only a month but might be cut down to a week or less, since we are right now working on a new system regarding ban times.
But the 30 Days for X-Ray was still in the rules, so I banned you for it. (I personally dont think that X-Ray is bad now, especially since the Servers world is pretty old now and the resources are extinct
We also clear the Inventory before actually banning, but I make backups of the playerData beforehand so you dont need to worry if your ban should be lifted.
I will reply on your appeal and on the others if we came to a decision regarding X-Ray bans

Hello Josh, I have unbanned you and restored your inventory.
Please dont x-ray again or your inventory will be wiped next time.
