Feature: A search bar

Description of feature: For those who have just not gotten the grasp of the fundamentals of information technology, a search bar is a text box whose sole job is to look things up for you. 

Why: I have been part of many forum websites. Plenty of them, trust me. Now, I'll admit I hardly come on this website at all, so there are some things I am still unaware of.

However, what I am suddenly aware of as I had meticulously searched for just one thread, with no luck to be had nor any light at the end of the tunnel, is that searching for something that you actually wanted to find is way harder than it needed to be. In about sixty seconds, I was already frustrated with the website. 

All the threads are organized so that the one with the most recent responses are up on the first page -as well as sticky threads- which is nice, I'll admit, it can be utilized to direct the attention of a player to where present discussion is present. But then there are players - like me - who want to look up something, and they can't find it because the Forums webpage does not have enough utility to support their endeavors to find information lost in current events.

How can this be implemented: Here is how I think it should be implemented; I believe it should be - obviously - added to the upper-right area of the Forum menu. Not in the upper corner, but rather in the purple SWDTeam banner thingy, towards the right of the screen. From there, it should be able to simply search for key word (that being the words entered in the search bar ), and bring up the search results in a new window.

While this function is intended for only searching for threads, it could also have additional options as well, such as being able to search for a player name, a quote in a post, etc. You could do this by clicking on a options button, and select a option.

For instance:

            Search For;

• Threads
• Quotes
• Members

And of course, if I am being a very dumb person, and there is in fact a search bar... Welp, first off tell me that outright, and second off show me where the darn thing is. I may as well be looking for $2 billion under New York City, and I'll probably have better luck there. xD

There have been many threads like this for a search bar as there as of now is still no search bar and no one who's asked for one has had the desired outcome of actually getting one implemented into the site yet. I do wish John would add one as it would make it so much easier to look for things, John has said he'd add one but never did, he did say that he agreed with that it'd make things a lot easier and it's annoying to him as well as us. I personally will keep waiting for one to be added.

There's no search bar.

Well, I can't say I haven't expected that a lot of people have already asked for it, but thus far I'm merely thankful that I'm not the odd one out for asking.  

Arc, I can't remember but didn't I also make a thread requesting a search bar?

I made this suggestion already to john xD

 I do know that a lot of people have. Arc said I hadn't made a thread but I might have suggested it to John on his profile or on Skype, I really don't remember which. It was a while ago and life's been really busy for me lately with exams in about a month.

Okay thanks for the info Sub, let's hope you're right. :)

I find that as the forums have grown much larger, this has much more relevance now
