As for being indestructible, the TARDIS has nearly died/been destroyed many times, one such example is 'Rise of the Cybermen'.
Weeeell if you want to split hairs, in 'Rise of the Cybermen', she didn't really explode, she just died. The console sparked and smoked like heck, but she just died, still intact. If you want to see a real explosion, look at 'The Pandorica Opens' and 'The Big Bang'. There, the TARDIS legitimately explodes and takes the whole of creation with her.
