[Dalek Mod Suggestions]Time Vector Generator, From Crashed Tardises to Gallifrey, Console Crafting Recipes [Improvements/Utility Blocks/Structures]

NOTE: Gallifrey Ores have been moved to another thread- link

A bunch of these features were originally part of this suggestion here, but I decided to make this thread as a "Changes to the way you get a Tardis" and a sort of "Tardis connections to Gallifrey" kind of thing, as it can stand on it's own well as it's own topic of suggestion

Anyway, as the title implies, this suggestion will mainly focus on "Gallifrey and Tardises" as one thing.

I want to add more here once I can think of how to word it. I'll update this later today.

Main Changes

  • Gallifrey Has Ores
    • These are used to craft various things related to the Tardis as well as armor/toolsets
  • Tardises are no Longer Craftable
  • Police Boxes are Craftable and pretty cheap to make.
    • Police Boxes are just normal Police Boxes.
    • They aren't bigger on the inside and have never been so.
    • They're excellent for decor purposes and perhaps useful as decoys/traps
  • Tardises will all generate with the same default interior
    • Naming a Time Vector Generator before you put it in your Tardis will allow you to have a preset Tardis interior.
      • In fact, this will allow a player to load ANY Tardis Interior the player wants, given that he or she has placed a copy of the schematic in the Dalek Mod folder. The Doctors' Tardises will come with the mod.

New Stuff

  • Time Vector Generators
    • They Make Police Boxes TT Capsules into Tardises and change Tardises into a new "Innactive Tardis" when Removed.
  • Gallifreyan Ore Armor, notably an Armor set based on Omega's Armor.
  • Innactive Tardis
    • This Block has one difference from the Police Box and it's major
      • Innactive Tardises are tied to Tardis interiors, just like a normal Tardis. Despite this, you can not go to that interior with an innactive Tardis.
      • Whenever a time Vector Generator is used on an innactive Tardis, it always changes back to a normal Tardis and changes the interior back (if there never was an interior (ie: obtained Innactive Tardis via creative mode) it will not make one when changed to a tardis)
  • Crashed Tardises
    • Wondering how you'll get to Gallifrey without a Tardis? Don't worry, this suggestion covers it
  • Tardis Consoles have a crafting recipe
    • They will be able to function (of course)
    • The very first Tardis Console will be the base Console and you can get others by crafting it with dyes or other items
      • This console was used by the First Doctor and Second Doctor until Season 6B (2nd had a new Interior in The Two Doctors)

More details below

 Time Vector Generator Stuff

Originally it was a bit of a way to save/back up interiors to a sort of carriable item/"interior cloud" but I need to rethink that part.

Anyway, for now, I'll just suggest the part that's actually from the whoniverse which my idea was based on, rather than the previously mentioned idea..

Feature: Time Vector Generator related Stuff

As seen in: Wheel in Space

Description:

Players no longer craft Tardises. Instead they must craft Police Boxes grow TT capsules which can be given Time Vector Generators to made into fully dimensionally transcendental Tardises.

Police Box

  • Cheaper to craft than the current Tardis. But... It's not actually a Tardis. Like in the Television Serial Wheel in Space, this appears to just be a normal police box, with an inside resembling a police Box. No console room, and no dimensional Transcendence.
  • It can be made into a Tardis.
  • It's great for easy-to-make decor.
  • Good as a decoy if you need it for some reason.

Time Vector Generator (Item)

  • This is usually more expensive to craft.
  • When used on a Police Box grown TT Capsule, it will become a proper fully dimensionally transcendental Tardis.
  • If the Generator rod used on the Tardis TT Capsule was named at an anvil, it can load a console from a certain folder  (Originally meant as a legit way of getting the Doctor's Tardis, but it may be a way of getting other custom interiors as well).
  • When the Vector Generator is used on an Innactive Tardis (don't confuse this with a regular police box), it just changes the innactive Tardis back to a proper Tardis

Time Vector Generator (Block/Entity):

  • Found inside the Console Room
  •  When interacted with, the player is placed outside of his/her Tardis, given the vector generator, and the Tardis becomes an innactive Tardis,

  • Post was cut. The rest is in my next reply

If you did not know, Gallifrey Is being redone, so that will be fixed for 1.8.

(Second half of the post)

  •

Innactive Tardis:

  • Exactly the same as Police box, however it always changes back to the Tardis it was before becoming innactive. In other words, it will always reload the same interior it last had, even if it has been innactive for a long time
  • Note: If the Tardis never was active, it won't work. This can only be possible if the Innactive Tardis block as an item is obtained via creative/cheats.

Purpose:

  • Allows a player to make Unexpensive Police Boxes for Decor
  • Creates a unique use of a function from the Tardis
  • Allows a player to have a "starter interior," have a way of getting special Doctor interiors, and also allows a player more freedom with interiors.

Any other Info:

  • There should be a folder called "Console Room Schematics".  Any blocks loaded into the interior this way have no drops and any chests will be empty. (Save for the initial generation chest)

Crashed Tardises

Feature: The Crashed Tardis randomly Generating Structure

Location:  Here and There in the Nether, and maybe One in the End (Just one).

Lore: A Time Lord Once owned this Tardis. He must've ran into something really bad. This is all that remains.

Description: Inspired by the "Junk Tardis" the Crashed Tardis will be remains of a Console room with heavily damaged equipment. If in the Nether, some of the Netherrack around the Tardis will be burning. There will be a chest with some Zeiton ore (to start up your Tardis when you first get it), maybe a few goodies and perhaps a part of the Tardis Monitor or some other instrument. If SWD wants to, they can perhaps boost the creep factor by adding one of the Skull things in some of these crashed Tardises. Maybe more than one (Implying the Timelord had Travel Companions)

Use: Messing around with the control will teleport the player straight to Gallifrey where he or she may now mine for some ores to make his or her Tardis and Tardis Parts.

A Crashed Tardis Structure will generate where the player appears on Gallifrey. It will be linked to the other one and provide a way back

Purpose: It adds a little mystery to the game and adds a bit more gameplay to make one's first  Tardis. It would also allow players immediate access to the ores I mentioned previously. Also, it would allow Players to have starter fuel for his or her Tardis. Zeiton ore will still also generate normally wherever it usually generates.

Any other Information: This suggestion does not retcon the suggestion of the chest that randomly generates in a player's Tardis after building one. He or she will not need to hunt for ores to make his or her first flight.

Bringing back the Tardis Workshop on Gallifrey, but with changes to the "Tardises" there (50ap5ud5's idea)

I was thinking, there  was a Tardis landing room/Tardis Workshop on Gallifrey in the Citadel in the 1.7.10/1.6.4 versions. They seem to contain "Innactive Tardises"-UDWF1 which in reality are just iron blocks and iron doors which the player can steal. (Like Reddash did in his DM survival series). Your Innactive Tardis suggestion seems to fit the role of the above perfectly so this is a scenario in which your Time Vector Generator item can be used along with the Innactive Tardis Suggestion.

Name of Generating Structure: Tardis Workshops with Innactive Tardises

Lore/Brief Background (Or "As seen in" if not from Doctor Who canon):Name of the Doctor (Flashback), Hell Bent. The Tardis workshop contains deactivated Tardises which are in for repairs or for scrapping. There doesn't seem to be anyone around here, workers have probably taken a break. Maybe you can "borrow" one of these Tardises for a spin...

Description: There will a Tardis Workshop room in one of the Citadel towers, in a lower level. These workshops will contain Innactive Tardises with "Undisguised Tardis/TT Capsule" exteriors. Players, when using a Time Vector Generator item on it, will cause these Tardises to become active again. These will show a randomised interior. Some interior will have missing parts from the console itself or the console room, as  if the Tardis is still being taken apart/tampered with for repairs etc.

How do you suggest we implement it: See description

Why should this be implemented: Adds a use for Innactive Tardises and Time Vector Generators, and improves the structure than just using iron blocks and doors to represent "Undisguised/TT Capsule" Tardises, like the Team did in 1.7.10/1.6.4.

Image(rough sketch/draft acceptable): Old Tardis Workshop in 1.6.4/1.7.10 Gallifrey. The "Innactive Tardises" are just iron blocks and doors, which look inaccurate.

Tardis Workshop old 1.6.4/ 1.7.10

Any other information: None

First Doctor's Modeled Console Crafting Recipe

Crafting Recipe: time rotor, flight panel, tardis monitor, demat lever, tardis command control panel, sonic panel, Fuel Panel, Door Lever, and the Life form Scanner.

This console will be dyable/craftable with other blocks to get consoles of other Doctors

It will be functional (not sure how. Maybe a GUI with buttons that each act like a Tardis control when clicked on)

Purposes for these Suggestions:

Gallifrey Ores

  • Adds a purpose for going to Gallifrey
  • Adds some steps to getting a Tardis
  • Makes many new Crafting recipes for things that aren't craftable at the moment (Note: This Suggestion was made before Update 42, but I feel that these recipes could be a bit better in some ways)
  • Adds in higher tiers of Weapons and armor to help you battle the mobs added by the Dalek Mod.

Time Vector Generator

  • Adds in a cool new feature.
  • Allows players to load in ANY premade interior they want for their Tardis
    • Also allows users to make and share their Tardises a lot easier
    • Allows players to put premade interiors into existing worlds
      • People currently share Tardis interiors as world saves. These cannot be moved into other worlds without technical knowledge or perhaps other mods
      • Named Time Vector Generators simplifies this process by a lot and will also allow server owners to put interiors into their folder to expand the selection available to the players
  • This eliminates the need for multiple Tardis spawning item Variants

Police Box:

  • Allows players to be able to make Decor Police Boxes easily without having to to go through much trouble
  • These decor blocks can also be used for strategic purposes. Decoys or traps for instance
  • This adds another step to getting the Tardis

Innactive Tardis

  • Rather than having the Tardis become an innactive one when the Time Vector Generator is removed, the Tardis will become the Innactive Tardis.
    • This will allow Tardises to keep their interiors for later when made innactive
    • It will also prevent a named Time Vector Generator from overwriting the Interior already synched to the Tardis

 Crashed Tardis

  • Allows a way for players to get to Gallifrey without a Tardis
    • This is important as there is no way to make a Tardis without first going to Gallifrey
  • Allows a player to be able to Take off his or her Tardis when he or she first gets one
    • When a Tardis is first made, it will be out of fuel. The Zeiton-7 Crystals of the Crashed Tardises will provide something for the player to start out with
  • Adds in a reason for the player to spend some time travelling (please don't read this as time-travelling) in the Nether
  • Adds a Dalek Mod structure to the Nether
  • Adds in a little bit of mystery to the Dalek Mod
    • of course, if the team chooses, maybe a boss mob could have been behind this.

Tardis Workshop Changes

  • Accuracy mainly

Hartnell's Console Crafting Recipe

  • It provides a method for players to obtain a Tardis Console (and it's variants) in survival
  • This allows players to be able to have a choice of modeled console or block consoles without forcing one or the other on the player.
  • Additionally, the recipe makes sure players can't take shortcuts (since the console recipe calls for all the controls)
  • Allows a way for players to change their consoles' designs without having to go back down the road of making a whole new console

Part 3 of this post is here https://swdteam.co.uk/forum?p=thread&tid=357&page=1#t_post_id_2334

If you did not know, Gallifrey Is being redone, so that will be fixed for 1.8.

Cool.

Also, has 1.7.10 been dropped?

The classic console mostly kept the same shape, but if the variants are ever added, these would be the recipes . Also, I really wish there was a spoiler button.

 Pre-Rose:

First Doctor's Console

  • Made by putting bonemeal in each corner of the crafting grid, Any Console in the Center, and putting ink sacs in the places remaining.

Second Doctor's Two Doctors Console

  • Made by putting ink sacs in each corner of the crafting grid, Hartnell's Console in the Center, and putting bonemeal in the places remaining.

Third (maybe also Fourth) Doctor's Console (recipe coming soon)

Fourth's Wooden Console

  • Planks and Wood Blocks with the Hartnell Console in the Center

Fifth  (recipe coming soon)

Fifth's Second Console to the Seventh Doctor's Console (They're mostly the same)  (recipe coming soon)

Post-Rose:

Copper Console Crafting Recipe

  • Brass ingots with the Hartnell Console in the Center

I'm taking suggestions by the way. I don't know the consoles post-Rose too well

Also recipes here are wip. Ink sacs and bonemeal are likely placeholders. I'm going to try to think of something better

By the way, I'm wouldn't be surprised if the majority of these don't get into the mod, but I'll make recipes anyway.

Slow down there partner that's way too much to take in

Love the Idea. I sent this forum post to both Johns to try get this added. And it seems more natural to get a TARDIS off Gallifrey, or find one rather than build one. ~TheTwelfthDoctor

Tardis Coral
TT Capsules can be grown from Tardis Coral. See Quartz563's post here for more details.

Special Thanks

Other threads I'd like to mention:

Doe_killer's version of how to obtain a Tardis

  • In my version of the suggestion, the player can get a Tardis in 3 ways:
    1. Find a crashed Tardis, go to Gallifrey, mine for ores, craft a TVG, steal a Tardis from a Tardis workshop (Finding the Citadel may take some searching).
    2. Find a crashed Tardis, go to Gallifrey, mine for ores, craft a Tardis seed (this will require much more ore), grow it with Gallifreyan Dirt and lots of care (Growth will take some time, but it can be sped up).
    3. Finding Old Time Lord Spyres in the overworld (They aren't that common) and over time getting enough to craft a seed to grow a Tardis.

Those aren't the only ways this could be implemented though. doe_killer offers an alternative in his version of the suggestion. If you read my thread, I recommend reading his as well (link).

His version is based on 2 concepts:
      1. The player is more or less human and should not really know how to craft a Tardis
      2. Having to have a Tardis before going to Gallifrey

Also, in doe_killer's version, a player must get to tech to make a Tardis from crashed Tardises and either put them together to make a Tardis or use them to grow one. Again, I really reccommend seeing his version as well if you read mine.

I'm considering adding in Tardis Coral somewhere. Any ideas anyone?

I feel it should be tough to find, but require some kind of farming as well

Reformatted, see below.

Username: 50ap5ud5

Name of Block/item/ore: Tardis Coral (block)

Description:This block would enable you to connect certain optional devices to the Tardis.

Lore/Brief Background (Or "As seen in" if not from Doctor Who canon): Deleted scene from Journey's End and a scene in Torchwood

How do you suggest we implement it: A block that has redstone properties, allowing to connect different optional devices to the Tardis console ( like the extrapolator shield panel or even Handles, as seen below)

How does the player obtain it: One can find Tardis coral on certain parts of a Tardis interior, near the roundels. (I have to think about this part)

Why should this be implemented: To be able have a unique way to add upgrades to your Tardis

 Image(rough sketch/draft acceptable):

Any other information:

 Extrapolator Shard (Tardis Panel)

Username: 50ap5ud5

Name of Block/item/ore:  Extrapolator panel (block) (Full name: Tribophysical waveform macrokinetic extrapolator )

Description:This block once connected to the Tardis console using Tardis coral can add a forcefield and a defense shield tunnel ( which will require upgrades, I'll leave the details to someone else) to a Tardises' defences, like the one outlined here.

Lore/Brief Background (Or "As seen in" if not from Doctor Who canon): Boom Town

How do you suggest we implement it: The Tardis monitor GUI will have a greyed out "Toggle Forcefield" button when the Tardis is first created. When the user hovers over this button it will show a pop-up that tells the user to connect an extrapolator panel to the Tardis to enable the forcefield function. When the device is connected to the Tardis console, the device will be ready to use and will require Zeiton-7 crystals being placed in the Tardis fuel panel.

How does the player obtain it: One can craft a panel to use, or be obatained through trades with various Galifreyan Merchants.

Why should this be implemented: To add an extra step to adding defences and upgrades to the Tardis.

I'm considering adding in Tardis Coral somewhere. Any ideas anyone?

I feel it should be tough to find, but require some kind of farming as well

I'm thinking it could be a block with redstone-like properties. This block would enable you to connect certain devices to the Tardis. (E.g An extrapolator panel that allows the Tardis to have a forcefield. When a Tardis is first created the 'toggle forcefield' button would be greyed out and alerts users that they have to use Tardis coral to connect an extrapolator panel to the Tardis console via a text box when one hovers their mouse over the forcefield button. I'm just outputting ideas here, let me reformat it before this is quoted in another post.

That's a unique use, I'll say. It does need to be reformatted though, like you said

 Reformmated, please see above.

I'm going to start Changing this suggestion to be compatible with Quartz563's suggestion. Check it out. It's amazing.

i like this idea , i have a suggestion , if you have a Tardis Key in your hands , when that CORAL TARDIS is done , you key make a TARDIS LANDING noise .
it will make it be more realistic , idk

i posted this on the Quartz563's Thread but , i think there will be better to post tongue-out
