[Dalek Mod Suggestions] Various Dalek Minions from the show's History [Mobs]

So, I was thinking to myself one day, if this is the Dalek Mod, why not have a few of the Dalek's minions in the mod? It has been  part of the Daleks' style more than once to have some sort of working force below themselves.

Thus, this suggestion. Here are the main minions of the Daleks

Ogrons

Origin: Notably Ogrons are one of the few minions Daleks didn't need to manufacture and actually employed rather than tricked. How do they relate to the Daleks? Hired mercenaries.

As seen in: Day of the Daleks and Frontier in Space

Spawning: Anywhere

Behavior: Neutral

Attacks: Blaster

Hiring an Ogron: Ogrons are Mercenaries, and in my opinion, the mod should reflect that.

  • Ogrons will have a hidden Willingness value composed of Rank and time
  • If you give an Ogron a valuable item it will follow you for a set amount of time.
  • What they are willing to attack will depend on rank of Willingness
  • The time an Ogron will help you, and what they are willing to fight will depend on what you give them and how much
  • If they take a notable amount of damage, they may increase their price.
  • Willingness time remaining will decrease faster with certain factors
  • Once willingness goes out, they no longer work for the player

Attack Behavior

  • At long to mid distances they will use their blasters
  • At really short range, they will do a melee attack which is very powerful
  • They will work as a team, especially in large groups
  • No matter what, they will never attack Daleks, no matter what.

When in the Vicinity of Daleks

  • When Daleks are near Ogrons that aren't hired, the Ogrons will work for the Daleks and will become hostile and attack any players that come around

Note

  • A thing to keep in mind is that unlike the others in this list, Ogrons are NOT slaves to the Daleks in any way. They have been hired by them and have worked for them in a notable number of stories so they are in this suggestion for that reason. Ogrons are an independent race from the Daleks and even have their own planet. Ogrons work so they can recieve payment from the Daleks, not because they are enslaved by them or blackmailed or elsewise. As for why they won't attack Daleks even when not working for them? Well even though Ogrons aren't the brightest creatures, they aren't dumb enough to think attacking a Dalek would do them any good. (Especially since Ogrons should know what Daleks are capable of after working with them numerous times)
  • Ogrons worked for the Master before. Felt it was worth Mentioning

Dalek Puppets

Origin: Dalek puppets are made when humans come into contact with a kind of nanogene found in the Dalek Asylum. Anyone without proper protection is convertd into a partial Dalek and a slave to the Dalek race. This nanogene can apparently even work on the dead.

Spawning:

  • Rarely as a natural mob in some villages.
  • Dalek Asylums if they are ever added in game
  • The Death of a villager by a Nanogene/Infection Dalek (about the same rate as empty child or cyberman conversions) or by an Asylum Dalek (Low chance for the Asylum).
  • Will be a chance for Zombies to be made into Dalek puppet Zombies if they are shot by an Asylum Dalek or nanogene/infection Dalek. Villager Zombies are more likely to become Dalek Puppets. Nanogene/infection Daleks and Asylum Daleks will target Zombies if they see them to spread their influence. (Credit Doe_Killer for the ideas in this bullet).

Alignment: Hostile (Note: See attack behavior)

Attack Behavior:

  • The naturally spawning ones will appear, at a distance, to be normal villagers, and they will not attack at first. They will go into aggro mode however if the player is close enough and decides to turn his or her back to them.
  • In terms of attacks, they act just like a Dalek.
  • They don't have as much health or defense, but they can get around easier. They can open doors, climb ladders, jump over 1 block gaps

Other information

  • They move at about the same speed of the player, or a bit slower(Thank you Wodaman01 for this information)

Dalek Duplicates/Dalek Soldiers

As seen in: Resurrection of the Daleks

Origin: Genetically engineered clones maufactured (I assume from DNA) based on humans killed by the Daleks. They require a sort of machine to be made (will add more details soon)

Spawning:

  • Overall, being determined
  • There will be a special spawning involving stolen villager DNA, but it's WIP
  • Dalek Bases (the planet does not matter)

Alignment

  • Loyal to the Daleks (the ones who served the Supreme Dalek)
  • They will fight Imperial Daleks if they run into them

Attack Behavior:

  • Dalek Troopers will use their blasters to attack any non-authorized beings within an area

Robomen

Origin: The Robomen are human beings who have been made into Dalek Slaves through an process called the Tansfer, which involves having a machine operate on one's brain. During the 22nd Century, the Daleks who invaded Earth used Robomen as a way to keep order (There weren't that many Daleks comparatively over cities. The Robomen rather did most of the actual enforcing work for the Daleks))

Spawning:

  • Dalek Controlled Civilizations (Mainly the Overworld or Earth. Especially if a future version of it is added.)
  • Villagers who have gone through the Transfer Machine (WIP)

Behavior:

The Robomen are a form of Law and Order. And thus they will only attack suspicious people (details coming on this soon)

  • Sometimes they will be bodyguards to Daleks
  • Sometimes they will patrol areas to make sure no one is in off-limits areas
  • Sometimes they will oversee a group of villagers working.

Attacks:

  • The Robomen carry around machine guns (I need to see if this applies to the movie and also double check the source I got this bit of info from)

Skins:

  • There are 2 possible skins of Roboman, the TV version and the version from the movie

Note:

  • For the people who don't really go much into the actual background of Doctor Who, I'll just say this to prevent any confusion. The Robomen are COMPLETELY unrelated to the Cybermen in any way. The name implies they'e related, but trust me, their histories never cross at any point, their origins have nothing in common, and in short neither is the other.

I'll have more Details on them soon

I like this idea a lot, the daleks have had many minions over the years so it only seems fair that they should also be added into the mod

Also, yes. Although the puppets were seen to be about human speed, I do think they would be a bit slower.

also, do you mind if I use these in my Dalek thread coming out on the Power Of The Daleks anniversary?

finally, I'd love to help with this thread since a lot of these ideas are WIP, if you would like my assistance please feel free to contact me on Skype

When it comes to spawning I think when a dalek attacks a villager they become a roboman, appart from that I support this idea

Full support.

Perhaps a Zombie can rarely turn into a Zombie Dalek Puppet when they are shot by an Asylum Dalek, or the Nanogene/infection Dalek you mentioned; Daleks would then be hostile to ordinary zombies in addition to most everything else. A Zombie Villager would have a higher chance of becoming one (Zombie Villager and Zombie Dalek at the same time!). An interesting feature about them could be that they don't burn in the daylight like ordinary Zombies (Minecraft Story Mode comes to mind).

Also, interesting fact, originally in Frontier in Space, the Daleks 'hired hands' were going to be Cybermen instead of Ogrons.

 Thank you.

As for using what's here, I don't mind as long as you link back to my thread and credit anything I've suggested.

As for assistance, of you have any ideas, I'm open to hearing them.

I love this, and I'll definitely add this into the thread.

As for the added trivia, it's both interesting and ironic XD

Good thinking! You've taught me a bit about Daleks today, aha. I do like this idea! Mercenaries especially are a good idea.

I was thinking about this thread earlier today, and had an idea for the ogrons, should their home planet ever be a dimension in the mod. Perhaps, the only ogrons that spawn in the overworld will spawn nearby/with daleks, making them attack the player (hired by the Daleks and brought to earth). If the player kills the nearby daleks, they can then hire the ogrons. Otherwise, in order to hire ogrons, the player would have to travel to their home world in the TARDIS, where ogrons would spawn in large numbers, and hire them from there, taking them back to other dimensions with the TARDIS.

I like that idea.

I remember reading something interesting  about their planet once. I'll have to check what it was again
