Space-Time Rifts

These links are where i read the information:

Space-Time Rift

Portable Rift Manipulator

Suggestion: Add Space-Time rifts as seen in series 3 episode 12 of doctor who 2005 to the game, i’ve heard some talk about this as in using it as a sort of gas station for the tardis and i thought i would add it to the list of suggestions along with being able to use the rift as early transportation.

Spawning:

I’ve heard someone say once (i don’t remember who) that they should spawn similar to the way that slimes do in slime chunks, this sounds like a clever way to add it in and all the while have it not be too many spawning to the point where it’s exciting and not too easy to find one. But speaking of spawn rate i think it should be rare in the way it is to find titanium on the moon, i’m going to talk about how you can find find them easier in the later paragraphs. Now idk if it would be easier for it to spawn in just the overworld, but id say it would be more screen accurate and not to mention more of a little fun thing to find where ever you are (except the tardis interior dimension of course) in all of the dimensions/worlds

Transportation:

You will be able to use these rifts as transportation to other dimensions/worlds or even the same world it spawns in, just at a different location by just simply walking into it, but as with all things there is a catch... you cant control where it drops you off. It could plop you above a pool of lava in the nether or on the surface of the moon without oxygen, it randomizes with each spawn. Now this can be somewhat controlled with a 60% chance of getting the correct destination you require, to get a grip on control of the rift you must construct a device known as the Portable Rift Manipulator (AKA PRM for short), this will be easier to craft than the tardis but definitely not cheap. Idk what the crafting should be at this point but ill have to do some more research in the future to get a clue of the materials used.

Behavior:

The rift shall have a time limit on when it is open which should be relatively short, maybe about the length of a whole minecraft day (20 minutes if i remember correctly) then it will disappear leaving a scar. This scar will be used to charge a tardis but this will be discussed in the next paragraph. I was thinking when the rift disappears, it could have an entity damaging explosion but doesn’t destroy the block around it that instantly either kills or teleports the player to another location.

Refueling the tardis:

After the rift disappears, it leaves a scar which can be used to refuel the tardis but it does disappear after a while (possibly 10 minutes or so). I’m thinking that it should be in separate tardis block like the monitor or the handbrake so you can have all of those bells and whistles the real tardis has. And when the tardis lands near the scar, it waits until lightning strikes the exterior and sends sounds ringing in the interior. This fills the gauge up 100%, but if you don’t leave soon the tardis could get over charged which could possibly randomly teleport the tardis and drain the gauge completely leaving you stranded or damage the tardis (im more fond of the first option, but either way it adds more feeling of danger which is always fun)

Locating the rifts:

To locate a rift, i was thinking it would be similar to that of waypoints where it has a set of warp locations that when you press it, it sets a course for that location just waiting for the switch to be thrown. But in this manor, it has buttons that have locations of nearby rifts in which you can travel to and refuel the tardis. It makes the most sense for this gui to be in the monitor gui similar to the waypoints button.

Alright, i think i got everything... this is the second time writing this because it got erased somehow and i dont remember if this is all i wrote, also i’m pretty sure i wrote this in a neat format.

Rifts should also spawn Wevills from Torchwood, and increase DM mob spawns

Could have it to where the TARDIS has a Rift Scanner, that when in flight if activated, will set the remat coordinates to the NEAREST Rift Scar.

The Rift Scar Could Also Recharge the Tardis .. (if there is a Energy Source added to the Tardis) like shown in Doctor who by the 9th & 10th Doctor (can't Remember Episode names for this but I know they do)

and if this is Used (Energy Source for the Tardis) it should decay slowly like in Doctor Who ..
