Hey ! Sorry if it was already suggest (but I didin't find how to search an existing topic)
I think it will be really great to have a button on the console or a lever ( lever is more fast and convenient) that just send you back at previously destination.
For example, you are somewhere (you don't know where), but you notice that you forget something home. So you use your waypoint to go home. After taking what you needed, you just have to use this lever to return where you where, without have to fill coordinates (that you may have not write)

We know that in the serie, the TARDIS can do that (ex: With the Master in "Utopia"/"The Sound of Drum" and "The time of the Doctor")

Isn't this technically already done with the waypoints? You can set a waypoint to the place, go back home, get the stuff then travel to that waypoint. You can always delete the waypoint when you're finished.

Yes, we can use the waypoints, of course. But it's less convenient. And like I said, I think it make sense in the lore of the series
