TARDIS Jerry Rigging

Description

Certain new blocks and items like wires, circuitry, panels, etc, could be added to bypass some of the drawbacks of the TARDIS.

There could be a way to siphon fuel from other TARDIS or circuits to completely bypass the fuel system and fly on a dry fuel tank, resulting in a stutter take off and extremely difficult flight.

A way to temperately bypass the chameleon circuit. only temporarily and it might not always disguise fully or as what you wanted.

I understand all of these might seem a bit OP, considering the drawbacks of the Dalek Mod TARDIS were added specifically to make it not too OP, which is why I suggest other drawbacks. These are Jerry Rigs, after all, they wont work all the time and may result in other damages to your TARDIS.

Heres a few new drawbacks

Show content

  • Scorch marks where wire and circuits have shorted
  • Empty roundels and holes in the console from previous Jerry Rigs
  • Cracked monitor screens, just because (Ill come up with a reason later)
  • Lights flickering and dimming from one too many flight on an empty fuel tank
  • The exterior could get cracked windows or scratch marks from previous Jerry Rigs
  • sparks and explosions when trying to take off, like when The Doctor tried to visit his own grave, to show that either the Jerry Rig wasn't a good idea or that you did it wrong

an example of a couple of Jerry Rigging drawbacks (like the stuttering, broken windows and, explosions)

All of which could be fixed using a new item, The TARDIS Repair Kit. One kit fixed one problem. Simply Right Click the Repair Kit on the block you want to repair

Lore

It's pretty obvious... The Doctor has Jerry Rigged and tampered with his TARDIS on so many occasions, it can't list just one. The Cloak, HADS, Shrinking (seen in Peter Capaldi's "Flatline"), they're all Jerry Rigs that The Doctor's made on his TARDIS.

Handles even reminds the Doctor to Jerry Rig the telephone back to the console unit

And its not just The Doctor. Here's River plugging some random cables into the monitor to see the exterior perspective

How Does This Affect Game Play?

As described, its a way to temporarily bypass some of the TARDIS's Drawbacks. As such, I intend for it to only be used as a temporary solution. Too much Jerry Rigging could lead to even more drawbacks or an ugly, broken TARDIS, if you're not careful.

If you're stuck on, lets say Skaro, for example.

You're out of radiation pills, low on fuel, surrounded by Daleks. A quick Jerry Rig could get you back to Earth, maybe even the exact co-ordinates you wanted, if you're lucky. And you're saved! ooorrrrr, you could fail the Jerry Rig and end up maybe on Earth... maybe on another planet... but at least the Daleks are gone... I hope...

It's a Jerry Rig, it wont always go to plan, making it all the more fun!
